Yummi Pouch Review & Giveaway
I’ve said many times, here and elsewhere on the Internet, that my kids will eat almost anything if it comes in a pouch. I don’t know what it is that makes squeezable food so appealing, but if it gets them to eat interesting and healthy fruits and vegetables, I won’t complain. We’ve eaten a lot of those pouched snacks, not just because they’ll eat them without putting up a fight, but also because they’re very convenient. It’s nice to have a snack food that works on the go and is still good for my little cuties. While we’ve had success with these foods, I’ve often wished I could just make my own. It would be less expensive, and I’d have more control over the ingredients. Yummi Pouch sent me some of their great pouches for review, and now I can!
The Yummi Pouch is a reusable food container for babies and kids. Their pouches are BPA-free and phthalate-free for safety, and they’re recyclable too, making them extra eco-friendly. The extra-wide, zipper opening makes filling them easy, and the stand up bottom keeps the pouches upright for filling and storage. For our first experiment with Yummi Pouches, I made one of my daughter’s favorites: apples, blueberries, and yogurt. Yum!
The pouches are easy for her to hold and “drink” from. When she’s all done, these just need a quick rinse and then they can be put it in the top rack of the dishwasher for cleaning. Talk about convenience, right? Even more convenient is that these babies are freezer-friendly. To save time, you can make your pureed snacks in larger batches and freeze some for later right in the Yummi Pouch. You can even use a dry erase marker to label them so you can easily keep track of what’s in the pouch and when it was made. They’ve thought of everything!
Another benefit to these pouches is their size. For the reasons mentioned earlier, I still give my kids pureed fruits and veggies, but they aren’t babies anymore and they have healthy preschooler appetites. Most pouches I’ve seen are around 4 oz. or even less, but the Yummi Pouch can hold up to six. My girl can put away some food, so those couple extra ounces are appreciated.
Now my daughter is happy because she gets to eat food she loves, and I’m happy because it’s healthy and it’s saving us money. These will be great when she starts school in the fall too. I’ve been worried about what kind of snacks to send her there with, but now my problem is solved.
Yummi Pouches can be purchased at their online store. Keep up with the latest Yummi news by following them on Facebook and Twitter.
