As a former librarian, I’ve found that most people expect me to be very organized. As much as I hate to disappoint my fans, I must confess that organization is just not my specialty. In the kitchen, this means that I have cabinets full of bottles, boxes, and pouches, all in no particular order. If I needed something, I often had to dig behind lots of other things to find it….if I could find it at all. Take my spice cabinet as an example:
And really, it looked even worse in person than it does in this picture. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had bottles topple out of the cabinet while I was trying to remove something from that mess. I’d think I was smooth and could just get that one that I needed without disturbing the rest, but let me assure you, I was wrong on every occasion.
Isn’t this much nicer? This magic was made possible by the Classic SpiceStack from YouCopia. The organizer holds 24 full-size or 48 half-size spice bottles, round or square. Now everything is nice and neat, and I don’t have trouble finding or retrieving anything anymore. The unit itself is sturdy and has non-skid feet so it stays in place in your cabinet. The best part: no assembly required. They’re stackable too!
I’m almost ashamed to mention that while transferring all of my bottles from the cabinet of chaos over to my fancy, new SpiceStack, I discovered duplicates of a few things. I’m sure McCormick appreciates the business, but my frugal side is not tickled over this. The SpiceStack should help me avoid making that mistake in the future. Suggestions for great recipes incorporating a whole lot of allspice anyone?
YouCopia has been kind enough to include preprinted and blank labels so you can get even more organized. My fear of commitment has prevented me from applying these labels yet, but I think I’ve finally perfected my arrangement, and I’ll be using them soon.
YouCopia makes SpiceStacks in 5 sizes to accommodate a variety of spaces. They also offer organizers for medicine, baking supplies, and coffee products. I definitely need to get my hands on a K-Cup organizer! You can see all of their products and where to buy them at Youcopia.com. Find them on Facebook and Twitter too.
One lucky Game On Mom reader will win a Classic SpiceStack from Youcopia! Giveaway is open to US residents who are 18 and older. Ends 5/15/13.
