World Vision Gift Catalog + Giveaway
This post is brought to you by World Vision.
As we inch close and closer to Christmas, I’m stressing out more and more everyday, worrying that I won’t find the time to finish my shopping, or that I won’t find the perfect gifts for my loved ones. Of course when I stop to think about that, I realize how silly it is. Giving gifts for the holidays shouldn’t be a stressful thing – it should be happy, should make the recipient (and you) feel good.
I’ve spent a little time thinking about how I could make gift shopping more stressful, while also making it more meaningful. When World Vision contacted us about their organization, I realized it could be a perfect solution.
The World Vision Gift Catalog offers a catalog full of charitable gift ideas, plus beautiful, diverse products that give individuals the opportunity to better the lives of children, adults, and communities around the world. It covers many different areas of need, including clean water, food, education, sexual exploitation, and job training. Watch this short video to see how their program works:
Browsing the World Vision Gift Catalog, I found plenty of options for charitable gifts that I could purchase for those in need around the world, and I could easily turn that into a holiday gift by making that charitable donation in the name of a loved one. I’m sure many of my family members would be moved and pleased to know a gift of something so essential was given to someone less fortunate than us, especially in their name. But there is another option, too: if you love the idea of purchasing a charitable gift, but still want something tangible to wrap and give to loved one, they have a catalog of gorgeous handcrafted gifts that still benefit various groups of people in needy communities.
I’m excited to show you an example of one of the items from their handcrafted gifts catalog: the Silver Vines Cuff.
This cuff is absolutely stunning. I wish I could find the words to do it justice! Just look at this detail:
The Silver Vines Cuff has an intricately laced vine pattern designed by artisans in Old Delhi, India. This stunning piece is the result of once-mistreated jewelry makers banding together to support their families through Fair Trade practices. When you choose one of these gifts, you’re receiving the item as a memento of the donation you’re making to World Vision. World Vision promises to honor your generosity and use your donation in the most effective way possible.
I think these gifts are a fabulous way to give your loved ones a beautifully-handcrafted item, all while making positive changes for communities in need and supporting Fair Trade practices. It seems like a win-win-win to me!
Please take a look at World Vision’s website for more information about the communities they serve and the areas of help they provide. Their catalog of charitable donations can be found here, and their catalog of handcrafted items is here. You can also keep up to date with World Vision on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, or their blog.
