Wiggle, Hop, and Fly with the Magic Moves Wand
I’ve reached a point where I no longer replace the dead batteries in a noise-making toy. If you’ve been a parent for a couple of years or more, I’m sure I don’t even need to explain why. I’ve kind of had it with the headaches of toys that beep and sing incessantly. Occasionally, however, I come across a non-silent toy and say to myself, “Oh. My babies need that.” I had one of those moments a few months ago when we were at our local hobby shop and I saw the Magic Moves Electronic Wand from Educational Insights. I was unable to convince my husband that my kids needed another toy on top of what we’d originally been shopping for, so we went home without it. (Sad face.) Apparently, the Magic Moves Wand was my destiny, because Educational Insights insisted I review it. At least that’s what I told my husband. ☺
You might be wondering what is so special about the Magic Moves Wand. The name itself is a pretty big hint: it gets kids moving! They’ll waddle, they’ll scurry, they’ll swoop, and they’ll gallop as the wand encourages them to pretend to be pigs and crabs and owls and zebras.
This educational toy lights up and twinkles as 90 different physical commands and 26 musical styles magically transform your child into a slithering snake or a floating cloud. My daughter is quite fond of growing like a flower.
My son, who is as silly as they come, really gets into flapping like a chicken!
Every so often, the wand will instruct them to dance, and whoa! I thought they were having fun pretending to be animals, but when they dance, they just go wild. You might want to rearrange some furniture to prepare for some very enthusiastic boogieing.
The Magic Moves Wand really keep the kids moving, and they never seem to get tired of being asked to stomp like a giant. An indoor activity that keeps them active and improves their listening skills gets my approval. They have a great time dancing and pretending, and I really enjoy watching their individual interpretations of what it means to strut like a peacock.
The fun is aimed at kids 3 and up, either alone or with a group. I can’t wait to bust this baby out at our next birthday party, which is happening in December. The way they’re using the wand, I’m sure I’ll need to replace the batteries by then, and I will definitely be replacing the batteries!

The Harry Potter nerd in me is LOVING this idea. I’ve never seen one of these in a store. I’ll definitely have to check them out. My son is a little too young, but my niece would love it.
I, too, am one of those parents that no longer replaces batteries once they’ve died, but my 4 year old would love this! She loves anything that involves dancing, singing, wiggling, etc. I just like toys that keep her active (and wear her out). 🙂

Sure! We got it at Lowe’s. It’s Valspar Signature and the color is called Lazy Days. We love how it looks with my daughter’s furniture!
