What’s Your Social Personality?
This is a Fashionista Events opportunity.
It seems like everyone is hooked on social media these days, but have you ever given some thought to what your own online personality is and what the impact of your online behavior might be? Microsoft has come up with a cute video to help people recognize that the way they present themselves on the Internet is a pretty big deal.
What did you think? Funny, right? I certainly did a whole lot of giggling the first time I watched that video, but it’s as true as it is amusing. Once you put something out on the Internet, it’s out there for all to see and for who knows how long, so think twice before you act. It’s your reputation, and it’s up to you to protect it.
Take Microsoft’s social personality quiz, and let us know what you got!

My husband keeps his Facebook private, has a fake name, and only has his ‘real’ friends on it. He won’t accept friend requests from friends of friends, or acquaintances/work people. They get pretty goofy on there sometimes, esp. talking politics, so it’ s probably a good thing because like noted above…once it’s out there, it’s out there.

I see people putting things out there that they shouldn’t all the time and I always think to myself that someday it’s going to come back and bite them in the butt. People need to think before they put stuff out there.
I think I appear more down than i am!
My husband and I have tried to explain that to people for years. We both work in IT and everyone we talked to always thinks that – I can delete it so it is gone. It is never deleted once it is out there and once it is out there – you have no control on what happens to it. So much worse than telling a secret when you were a kid.
It floors me when I see some of the things I see on social. I’m not sure what people are thinking! I tend to under share.

Okay lovely I agree with this and these comments. I use social all the time because it is my business and I see things that make me cringe. For instance manners are manners and you need to use them everywhere – on line too. No swearing ever! No nudity ever! I am finding right now is a really interesting time because my kids are 10 and 13 and they are learning and growing up digital and social. I have an added responsibility to make sure my girls understand social comes with a responsibility.

I’m a Positivity Police ~ I just really Like EVERYTHING! I’m not sure that’s true. When I do go online, I do “Like” things, but I don’t like everything. Out of the ones they describe, I guess this would be the closest, since I don’t post a lot, especially not pictures of myself or my kids. I rarely post anything too personal, don’t curse and try not to be negative.

Ha Ha Ha, that is a cute video, I am only on social media to network but I see myself “being all about kid pics” because that’s all I ever post .. lol If I do post on my personal account I’m always posting pictures of my kids, but I also might be #hashtaghyper because I use them a lot!

My private page and my blog page are kind of mixed up all together. I really would like to keep them totally separate, but it is kind of too late now
Internet is a difficult place for impulsive people
once it is out, it is out

I’m scared for the next generation. Nobody calls anybody anymore and we’re forgetting how to be personable and have maners. I think we’re all to busy.

I worry about safety for young people with the internet. They tend to be really comfortable with it and it’s easy to tell strangers too much.

I always try to be careful about this although there are a few times I have added some pictures that I later thought maybe I shouldn’t have done that. They are usually of my husband and drinking since he isn’t a drinker it gets rather amusing when he attempts to “Be one of the guys”. Other than that I am very careful as I want to be seen as a professional.

It is so true! people certainly have a social personality. Sometimes it is true to life other times it is completely different. So interesting. How we are perceived online is important to think about.

It amazes me what some people put online! They need to think twice about something that is likely to come back to haunt them one day!

I think some people hide behind social media and others share too much. The key is finding some balance when you are interacting on it.

I try to under share, but sometimes I am guilty of over sharing. I’m trying to limit that though!
I took this quiz the other day and it told me I was selfish. I am working on changing that.

I’ve seen some things on social media that leave me shaking my head in wonder. When I first got on Facebook, I was guilty of the same, but now, I am much more careful with what I put out there.

I held off on social media for the longest time, and really only share non blog stuff at a minimum. My husband flat out refuses to put anything online and doesn’t have any social media accounts at all.

I tend to overshare, but not to the “Whoa that’s private!” extent. I am careful with what I share, and don’t post anything that I’m not comfortable being there 40 years from now.

I took the quiz and I am a noobie, LOL. I tend to under share for the most part. It I didn’t have a website, i would be off of social media. It is overrated.
I have become a meme and funny video poster over the past few months. It’s a fun way to kill some time.
hahaha how funny! I’m not sure if I even fit any of those stereotypes though! :/

This is so cute and so true because a lot of people don’t realize how they come across on social media. I’m shocked a lot of the time with the things people post!
People put some crazy things on social media & have to deal with the consequences. Which of course usually results in mass un-following & a post about the situation. #theyllneverlearn
I got the “One-upper” but I don’t think that’s really accurate LOL.

I wonder if there is a way to fix it after its’ put there like some pricy website out there to help save your sorry butt if you say or do or post something stupid to fix it as employers look at that stuff too to find out about who they are interviewing . o
