What It’s Like to Attend a Kidz Bop Live Concert
Are you a parent who has been wondering what a Kidz Bop Live concert is like? My family and I recently attended a performance at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, and I’m happy to be able to share a review of our experience.
What is Kidz Bop Live?
The Kidz Bop kids have been recording kid-friendly versions of pop hits since 2001. More than 17 million Kidz Bop albums have been sold, and they’ve also taken the act on tour. That’s great news for fans who now have the option to hear today’s biggest hits “sung for kids, by kids” live as the tour travels around the country in what is the ultimate family concert experience.
How long is Kidz Bop Live?
According to the Kidz Bop people, the show run time is approximately 90 minutes. For us, the doors opened at 6 PM, the show started at about 7 PM, and then there was an intermission at 8 PM. The intermission was very welcome, as the kids were able to take a bathroom break and get up and walk around a bit without having to miss any of the show. The intermission lasted around 15-20 minutes, and then the show was over just after 8:45 PM.
Who attends a Kidz Bop concert?
There were children of all ages at our show. We saw kids who were probably around middle school age and kids who were probably in preschool, and every one of them was singing and dancing the whole night.
What songs did the Kidz Bop kids sing?
As someone who likes to research set lists before attending any concert, I’d wanted to make note of the songs Kidz Bop performed during our show. I honestly didn’t recognize most of the songs though, so I find myself having to rely on my 10-year-old daughter’s memory. She’s 99% sure that it exactly matched this Kidz Bop setlist.
What was the Kidz Bop show like?
Those Kidz Bop kids have some energy, and that energy definitely spilled over to the crowd. The stage design was full of eye-catching elements, including colorful lights, video screens, and various backdrops that coordinated with the songs. Plus, they added a few special features that made an already lively show that much more fun and engaging. During the song “Havana”, they had the audience perform in a sing off where one side had to out-sing the other. T-shirts were thrown out to the audience, and there were times when giant beach balls were bandied about. My personal favorite segment of the concert was when they brought some of the parents up on stage for a dance off to some 90s songs, like “Can’t Touch This” and “Poison”. It was hilarious! Kidz Bop did a great job of making the show an interactive experience, and I think that helped hold the attention of both the younger kids and the parents.
Both my son and my daughter loved the show, and I’m sure your own little Kidz Bop fans would enjoy it just as much. I don’t have any personal connection to the music they play, but it’s such a lively atmosphere that you can’t help but get into it–especially when you see how much your children are enjoying themselves. And FYI, the show is updated every year, but this should still give you an idea of what to expect from a Kidz Bop Live concert. If you’re planning to attend Kidz Bop Live, put on your dancing shoes and get ready for some serious fun!

It looks like a lot of fun!
Sounds like fun – especially the parents dance off
Mine are probably a little old for this now, but I would have enjoyed taking them when they were younger. They used to love “Just Dance” and do that a lot at home.
Kids Bop has been with our family forever! We have CDs with their music and concerts. My kids know almost every song they sing. Excellent music for everyone!
