I’m Better Connected with My VTech Connect to Cell Phone System
This post is brought to you by SheSpeaks and VTech.
There are a lot of people who have given up their landlines in favor of exclusive mobile phone use, but I’m not one of them, nor do I think I ever will be. I like having one phone number that friends and family can use to contact the whole family, and we don’t have to worry about cell phone reception or the fact that my husband forgot to charge his (again). So yes, I love my landline, but I’m quite attached to my mobile phone too. It’s the number I tend to use most often when I’m filling out forms because it cuts back on telemarketing calls, and there are certain people who insist on calling the cell despite having directed them to use the home phone number. That wouldn’t be such a bad thing except that I tend to miss cell phone calls when I’m home because it’s buried in my purse or under a pile of papers…or on silent. Oops. Thanks to SheSpeak and VTech, I’ve been testing out a new phone that combines the convenience of my landline with the convenience of my mobile phone: the VTech Connect to Cell.
This nifty contraption features an answering system, two handsets, and a cordless headset. These are all things I look for in a home phone, but what really makes this one special is that you can use it to make and receive both landline and cellular calls. Up to two Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones can be paired with the VTech Connect to Cell, and the set up takes about 20 seconds for each one. With just the press of a few buttons, my new home phone was ringing when I received a cell call. You don’t even need regular phone service to use this feature. You can still connect your cell phones and use the VTech to manage your calls. Now that is convenience!
No disrespect meant to my cell phone, but I have to tell you: talking on a regular phone is way more comfortable. Whether I can find my cell phone when I need it or not, it’s really much easier to work with the home phone, and I have completely fallen in love with the VTech Connect to Cell for that reason. You know what else I’m loving? The cordless headset. I’ve used these at jobs in the past, but I’ve never had one at home before, and I’ve definitely been missing out. I cook/clean/work while I’m talking on the phone like usual, only now I do it without getting a kink in my neck. My neck approves. Plus, it comes with not just the earbud, but the full head band attachment, which is just fun. My little Ernestine:
Because I do have a landline, I haven’t felt the need to make cellular calls from my new phone, but receiving cell calls through it has been fabulous. I have the freedom to roam about the house without worrying about dead cell spots, and I have two hands free the entire time. Now when someone calls my cell phone, you won’t find me frantically trying to dig my phone out of my purse before the call goes to voicemail. It’s so great to not have to worry about missed calls anymore!

I totally agree about a regular phone being more comfortable. My hand always hurts when I talk on my cell phone for too long. This is really nice, especially the headset feature.

This might be a good option for us! We got rid of our landline 3 years ago in favor of our cell lines, but other phones ARE more comfy. I’ll be looking into this – thanks!

This set has almost convinced me to keep my landline. Awesome product!
This one I personally use. They have great aftersale support too.
I haven’t used a landline in years, but I probably should look into it again. It does look very comfortable.
Great for those who telework!
