Twas The Night Before Christmas: Edited by Santa (Giveaway!)

Twas the Night Before Christmas. We’re all familiar with the classic poem by Clement C. Moore in which St. Nicholas and his reindeer visit a family on Christmas Eve, but the version I’m featuring here is a little different from what you’re probably used to. Out of care for young readers, two lines have been omitted:
“The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth / And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.”
I’m not normally a fan of changing the classics, but as far as I am concerned, smoke-free is the way to be, so this is a change I can get on board with. The story otherwise remains the same, and all the charm and excitement you love about it is still there. Now, however, your little children’s heads will be filled with images of sugar plums (remind me to google what a sugar plum is) instead of pipes and smoke. The kids have no idea anything is missing, it doesn’t change the feel of the poem, and I feel better about reading it to them.
The illustrations are super cute too! There are adorable, fluffy, and sometimes laughing animals on each page of the book. The colors are bright and cheerful, and the overall look and feel is very appealing to little kids. Mine definitely love it, and you can be this is what I’ll be taking out to read them on Christmas Eve this year.
