Three Super Fun & Innovative Bubble Toys to Keep the Kids Playing Outside
We still have a couple of weeks before we head back to school, and either way, there are plenty of nice weather days ahead of us. More nice weather means more opportunities to go outside and play of course. How do we make being outside more fun? By adding bubbles! We recently spent a long afternoon experimenting with some Gazillion Bubbles toys that we were given to review from Funrise. Let’s see what we did!
When my kids saw the Gazillion Bubbles Tornado, they both attempted to grab the box and claim it for themselves, so I figured that’s where we should start. The Tornado unleashes a storm of bubbles that last longer and float higher in the air. They’re also very pretty—as far as bubbles go.
Easy to use, you just turn the bubble solution bottle upside down in the reservoir, and let the liquid flow. In a couple of seconds the Gazillion Tornado will begin surrounding you with tons of bubbles. A couple of seconds after that, and your kids will be running all over the yard, either trying to catch and pop the bubbles or simply enjoying the feeling of moving through a huge cloud of bubbles. Mine got such a kick out of it that they insisted they leave it on while they tried the next bubble toy.
The Gazillion Giant Power Wand does just was it says: it makes GIANT bubbles!
Dip the wand into the specially-formulated solution, press a button, and you’re all set to make some really impressive bubbles. Depending on how you move the wand, you can make bubbles of various sizes. But why not make huge ones if you can, right? My daughter was absolutely amazed at what she was creating with the Giant Power Wand. Look at this monster!
And now for the main event of the day: Bubble Pong! Similar to ping pong but without the paddles, your goal is to get your ball into one of the holes on your opponent’s side. Each time you get one in, your opponent gets blasted with bubbles!
For the most success, I’d recommend playing Bubble pong on a longer table than we did or even on the ground. No matter what surface you have to work with, you’re in for some silly fun with this one. First to score three times is the winner, but this is a game that’s almost more fun to lose.
And it’s like two toys in one because there’s also a Bubble Machine Mode for times when you want constant bubble action. Can you say bubble dance party?!
Bubble toys sure have come a long way since I was a kid. Bubbles never really get old, but all of these innovative ideas are especially fantastic for keeping kids engaged. You’d be surprised how many hours you can lose playing with them! If it consistently gets the kids up, out, running around, and laughing, I’d say it’s a win.
A couple of things to note:
- Each of these toys requires batteries. The Power Wand requires 2 AA batteries, the Tornado needs 4 AAs, and the Bubble Pong takes a whopping 6 AAs.
- They all come with bonus bottles of bubble solution, and a little generally goes a long way, but I’d still suggest getting some more. When you use the included bottles, you’ll be able to see how the superior quality of the solution enhances the bubble fun, plus the Giant Wand needs the special solution to make the enormous bubbles.
