The Force is with My Little Princess in Her Star Wars Princess Leia Costume!
A costume was received for review purposes. All opinions are my own.
This year, Halloween in my house will be all about Star Wars. I’ll show you more about it in the next few days, but for now, I’ll give you a peek at the costumes.
My son originally wanted to be Ant-Man, but once it officially became October, he decided he really needed to be Luke Skywalker. (No arguments from me!) There was no question for my daughter; she was going to be Princess Leia. Leia is brave, brilliant, and strong, and she’s got that amazing hair!
I was more than happy to shop for Star Wars Costumes, and we ended up going with the well-know Rubie’s brand. The Deluxe Princess Leia costume includes the dress, a belt, and that fabulous wig. The hooded dress is made of a slightly shimmery material of a decent weight, but it’s somewhat sheer. She’ll be wearing a light shirt and pants underneath for modesty and to keep her a little warmer on what’s sure to be a chilly day out here in NJ.
The belt has actual, sewn-0n embellishments, rather than just a printed image. I appreciate these little details because they make a costume look so much more authentic. It fastens in the back with velcro, so you can make slight adjustments to get the right fit.
The wig has been the most exciting part for my little girl, and I’ve had a hard time getting her to take it off. At first, I thought it was too small for her, but after some strategic maneuvering, I got it to fit perfectly. It seems secure as it is, but a few bobby pins probably wouldn’t hurt if your child will be out running around all day on Halloween. Speaking of bobby pins, one thing I didn’t like about the wig is that it has some short pieces that like to stick out. I’m not sure why they are there at all, but I will probably use a bobby pin or two on Halloween to make sure they don’t start popping out while she’s trick or treating.
In my experience, children’s costumes tend to run small, but this actually ended up being quite larger than I expected. My daughter was right in the middle of the small and medium sizes, so I ordered up, and the fit of the medium is very generous. She still feels comfortable wearing the costume, and this way she’ll be able to get a lot of use out of it for the next year (probably longer) when she and her friends play dress up.
My daughter and I are both very happy with the Princess Leia costume, which can be found at Wholesale Halloween Costumes. She and her brother can’t wait to show off their new Star Wars looks to all of their friends on Halloween. Now, if I can just convince my husband to be Darth Vader, we’ll have the whole family!

What a great Princess Leia outfit. I bet my daughter would have loved this one. She liked Star Wars when she was a kiddo!
What a great costume choice. I love the Princess Leia wig.
So cute! Star Wars is always a popular choice in our home!
Awww, so cute! I love the attention to detail on these costumes – so many times, “storebought” costumes are just printed, like you mentioned. May the force be with you!

That’s so funny. There’s no mistaking who she is supposed to be, not with that wig.
I’m betting these will be super-popular this year. With the release of the new movie, everyone’s talking Star Wars!
