The Croods: A New Age in Theaters Nov. 25th + Win Tickets!
Did you hear the news? The Croods, that beloved prehistoric family who entertained us way back in 2013, are finally back to share more of their adventures with us.
The Croods have survived their fair share of dangers and disasters, from fanged prehistoric beasts to surviving the end of the world, but now they will face their biggest challenge of all: another family.
My own family was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to watch an early screening of the film, and I am not exaggerating when I say that we absolutely loved it. We liked the first one, but wow—the sequel blew us away. (That’s not something I’m used to saying about a sequel.) All of the characters from the original movie return, we get introduced to a few new characters, and we’re treated to some truly beautiful scenery. It’s a feast for the eyes for sure. More than anything, it was hilarious! It’s been a while since anything has made me laugh so hard, and right now, I think we could all use a good laugh. Plus, my kids now think they can speak fluent Punch Monkey. You’ll have to watch the movie to figure that one out.
Haven’t seen the original yet? You could watch A New Age on it’s own and still thoroughly enjoy it. Seeing the first will, of course, give you all the background on the characters, which doesn’t hurt. It’s currently streaming on Netflix, and you can also rent it over at Amazon.
Our friends at Universal also sent us some fun Croods swag to help us get excited for the event—as if my kids needed any help with that!
More About The Croods: A New Age
The Croods need a new place to live. So, the first prehistoric family sets off into the world in search of a safer place to call home. When they discover an idyllic walled-in paradise that meets all their needs, they think their problems are solved … except for one thing. Another family already lives there: the Bettermans. The Bettermans (emphasis on the “better”)—with their elaborate tree house, amazing inventions and irrigated acres of fresh produce—are a couple of steps above the Croods on the evolutionary ladder. When they take the Croods in as the world’s first houseguests, it isn’t long before tensions escalate between the cave family and the modern family. Just when all seems lost, a new threat will propel both families on an epic adventure outside the safety of the wall, one that will force them to embrace their differences, draw strength from each other and forge a future together.
