Stay Fit On the Go with a FitKit!
As busy as I am, fitness is something I insist on making a part of my daily life. No matter what else I have going on, I always take the time to squeeze in some kind of workout. Well, that’s how most days go anyway. So, when I recently took a trip to Chicago, I was very happy that I had a FitKit to bring along with me.
Developed by Aimee Hoff, a fitness consultant and personal trainer, the FitKit is a complete set of fitness tools that come in a portable carrying case so you can get in a work out anytime, anywhere. Let’s take a look at exactly what you get with this.
- Resistance Tube with Handles – This rubber tube is 4 ft. long and has premium cushioned handles. Resistance is adjustable, and it’s perfect for strength training at all fitness levels.
- Flat Resistance Band – Versatile flat rubber band used for building muscle and stretching. Resistance can be increased or decreased simply by changing the length of the band.
- Stability Attachment – By attaching this to a door, you’ll have even more exercise options.
- Jump Rope – Work your entire body with this 9 ft. rope with contoured hand grips.
- Pedometer with Safety Alarm – Attach this to your pocket or waistband and keep track of all of your steps! The safety alarm emits a 120-decibel sound when pulled.
- ID Tag – Fill out your personal and medical information and then attach this to your shoelace or belt loop so this important info is ready in case of emergency.
- Reflective Arm Band – For safety when you’re exercising outdoors.
Also included with the FitKit is access to an online library of more than 250 exercises to help you work on strength, cardio, flexibility, balance, and more. My favorite exercise from the FitKit exercise library? I have to go with the Standing Inner Thigh Crossover. With the flat resistance band from the kit, nothing will get in the way of my quest for jiggle-free thighs. ☺
Everything you need for a good workout is right there! And yes, all of this really does come in one small case that you can take almost anywhere. It’s under 2 lbs., TSA friendly, and you can see how nicely it fit into my small carry-on suitcase.
The hotel where I stayed did have a gym, and I made use of the elliptical machines while I was there. Still, I found it very handy to have my FitKit with me. Exercise is an important part of my life, and I try not to let travel disrupt my routine, but hotel gyms tend to be small and can get crowded during peak times. With my FitKit, I was able to do some strength training in the comfort and privacy of my own hotel room and avoid the masses of sweaty people who were hogging the gym equipment. I can be a bit of a mess first thing in the morning, so not having to worry about what I looked like or what I was wearing was a big plus too.
You also have the option of joining the FitKitCLUB for an additional fee. This is an amazing resource that adds another 500 exercises to the FitKit library. In addition, you’ll gain access to the 6-week FitKitSTART nutrition and exercise program, healthy recipes, articles and tips from leading experts, and the ability to ask them questions you have about health and fitness.
The FitKit is such a useful tool for when you want a good workout but can’t or don’t want to get out out to the gym. It’s great for traveling because it’s so portable, but you can definitely use this when you’re home too. I think I’m going to send mine to the office with my husband so he can get in a quick workout during his lunch break. Now he won’t have any excuses for not being able to find the time!
You can purchase a FitKit online for just $34.99. Don’t keep it all to yourself either–this would be a great gift for any fitness-minded individual. Oh, and let’s not forget that Father’s Day is coming. Wouldn’t Dad love the gift of fitness this year?

I received a complimentary FitKit for review. I was not compensated in any other way, and all opinions are my own. Always consult a doctor before beginning any exercise program.

These seems so neat! Even if not for travel, it’s so small that it would be great for working out in a small apartment or dorm room.

I never heard of a fit kit but this is totally awesome!
What a great idea. I bet its much cheaper than buying everything separately too!
I saw the Fitkit somewhere recently…maybe in a magazine? It’s nice to read about a real mom’s review on a blog.

What a great idea! I love how the pedometer has an alarm on it. Women out walking (especially because don’t we normally have our earbuds in?) can’t be too careful.

I like that the pedometer has a safety alarm-mine doesn’t and when I’m walking outside, I sometimes worry that it will fall off without me realizing it.
