Spring Forward Your Wardrobe with a Camilla Olson Scarf!
With winter officially over, at least as far as the calendar is concerned, it’s time to start thinking about spring and summer clothing and accessories! If you need a versatile way to accessorize your look, I highly recommend a Camilla Olson scarf. I had the chance to review one, and when I was asked if interested, I said yes because, hey, I like feeling pretty and scarves are an easy way to do that. However, I really wasn’t sure what to expect. I did not expect a work of art on the softest 100% pure silk, but that’s exactly what I got. Each scarf is custom printed, which means that each one is unique. The coral color of the scarf I received is absolutely stunning, and I love the pattern.
I decided I really wanted to shoot the scarf outside, on a sunny day (of which there are thankfully many in Colorado). I wanted to be able to show how sheer and delicate it is, and I thought the sunlight would do that better than any indoor lighting ever could. I wasn’t really sure how to display it, but then inspiration struck. See, although it’s technically now spring, at 9,000 feet the weather that corresponds to spring can be fleeting when it appears. Our poor aspen trees won’t get their “spring” leaves until it is nearly summer. So, I thought… aspens have the right to feel hip and pretty, too. And voila!
As you can see, the scarf is quite lengthy, which makes it really versatile for wrapping and tying, and in fact, the Camilla Olson website has tying tips for those who want to be inspired with new ways to wear scarves. Also, the tag is attached to the scarf’s tag with a silky black ribbon and an elegant safety pin (yes, safety pins can be elegant… because I say so). It felt classy, and also adds to the feeling that I personally love of something having been done by hand. A machine didn’t put this tag on. Someone did so with gentle care and love for the craftsmanship of the piece.
Here’s a closer up view, which really emphasizes the sheerness and delicacy of this beautiful scarf.
I am going to my mother-in-law’s for Easter, and I know she and her sister will both ooo and ahh over this gorgeous scarf (and hopefully it will score me a few style points with them). It will be a great piece to add to any wardrobe, and you can wear it year round, though obviously it’s not going to do much to keep you warm on a cold day. I’d also like to point out that Mother’s Day is just around the corner here in the U.S. and this scarf would be a great Mother’s Day gift, especially for those fashionista moms out there!
These gorgeous scarves are available in over 30 different colors, and it doesn’t stop there. Camilla Olson also offers a large selection of dresses, tops, bottoms, and outerwear, all made from recycled materials and sewn in California. Her pieces are truly one of a kind and will make any woman feel beautiful and luxurious. Visit Camilla Olson online to check out her full line. Connect with her on Facebook and Twitter too!
