Snack Naturally with Simply7
Aside from fresh fruits and veggies, I don’t keep a whole lot of “snack” foods around the house. Sure, they taste good, but have you ever looked at what’s in that stuff? For example, I have a penchant for a certain delicious nacho cheese chip. If you turn the bag over, you’ll see a mile-long list of ingredients that includes artificial flavors and colors, a couple of things I have to read twice before trying to speak out loud, and a generous dash of MSG. Trying to live a life that’s as free of Red 40 as possible, I tend to avoid such foods regardless of how much I might enjoy eating them.
The happy news is that I’ve discovered a brand of snack foods that has brought the crispy, crunchy deliciousness back into my life. Simply7 Snacks are a healthier, but still great-tasting, alternative to the big name chips you’re probably used to grabbing from the grocery store shelves.
Simply7 makes all of their food according to 7 core standards:
- 0 Grams of Trans Fat & No Cholesterol
- No Arficial Colors or Flavors
- No Preservatives
- Gluten-Free Ingredients
- All Natural Recipes
- Simple Ingredients
- Simply Delicious
Don’t you think all foods should be made to those same standards? And the feature that I think is most important isn’t even on that list: Simply7 uses non-GMO ingredients! You can get all of this delicious, wholesome goodness in hummus, lentil, and pomegranate chips in 11 different flavors.
The pomegranate chips were probably the most intriguing to me. I love pomegranates, but I had no idea how they would translate into a chip, and I couldn’t wait to find out. Turns out that while they are definitely different, they’re also quite tasty. They almost have a light strawberry flavor to them. The White Cheddar was probably my favorite, but let me give you a tip: dip the Sea Salt Pomegranate Chips in whipped cream cheese. YUM.
Lentils have a starring role in my diet, but again, I’d never had them in chip form. My love of the lentil created some high expectations for these chips, and I was not disappointed. My son devoured a whole bag of the Sea Salt Lentil Chips in one sitting (I really need to encourage moderation in that one), but I was partial to the Bruschetta. I’ve always thought that tomatoes and lentils make a great team, and I’m glad Simply7 decided to pair them up here.
The hummus chips were the scariest for me since I don’t really care for hummus the way it is traditionally presented. Chickpeas and I have never been great friends, so I can’t tell you what a surprise it was to find that the Spicy Chili Pepper Hummus Chips turned out to be my favorite of all 11 flavors. They have just the right amount of zest, and even my two-year-old son loves them. I could eat these every day. Possibly multiple times per day.
Simply7 makes healthier snacking easy. If you’d like the treats you give your family to be made of simple, natural ingredients (and why wouldn’t you?), I highly recommend giving these a try. Just say no to Yellow 5, and say yes to REAL food!
Use the Simply7 Store Locator to find a retailer near you, or you can also purchase Simply7 Snacks online. Visit them on Facebook and Twitter too!
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
