See a Doctor Without Leaving Your Home & Get Your First Visit Free!
Back to school! New supplies, new clothes, new teachers…new illnesses?
Unfortunately, when school season comes around, so do those pesky health problems that run rampant in classrooms full of kids who may or may not wash their hands and cover their mouths when they sneeze.
Before the holiday break this winter, many of you may see your kids bringing home colds, tummy problems, and pink eye along with their homework. Many of you also know how hard it can be to get the kids to a doctor when your schedules are both busy and you’re subject to the doctor’s availability. And, of course, when your child feels bad, it’s hard to force them out of bed and to one of their likely least-favorite places in the world. It’s altogether tricky, and we want to share an easier way to have those minor back-to-school illnesses addressed from the comfort of your own home!
Doctor On Demand is a service that provides video visits with board-certified physicians, psychologists, and lactation consultants on your smartphones, tablets, and computers. Download the app or visit the webpage, register for an account, and you’ll be video chatting with a physician in no time!
The physicians at Doctor On Demand treat a variety of illnesses and issues, many of which parents and children encounter during the school year. Common ailments treated include:
- Cold and flu
- Sore throat and cough
- Sports injuries
- Skin issues and rashes
- Pink eye
- Diarrhea and vomiting
- UTIs
For many ailments, a Doctor On Demand physician can treat you and your child at home with prescription and non-prescription therapies. The patient can continue resting comfortably, no one has to sit in a waiting room filled with germs and other sick patients, and the process of a doctor’s “visit” is a million times easier.
We’ve used Doctor On Demand a few times, and it really is as easy as it seems. After listing symptoms, you’re immediately connected for a video chat with a doctor, and you’re on the road to feeling better much faster. Other patients agree: Doctor On Demand has more 5-star App Store reviews than every other telemedicine app combined and 87% of patients are so happy with Doctor On Demand, they’ve already recommended it to their family and friends.
Our most recent consultation with a physician from Doctor on Demand was for a case of pink eye. It’s a problem we’ve dealt with several times since the kids started attending public school, so we know the drill. Having to deal with the hassle of getting an appointment with our regular doctor and sitting in a waiting room full of sick people seemed like an unnecessary waste of time. These are the moments when I’m grateful to have Doctor on Demand as an option. We just pulled up the app, described the problem, and we were discussing it with a doctor right away. He was able to send a prescription into our regular pharmacy, and he gave us full instructions on how to use the medication as well as other tips for managing pink eye. The whole process took about 6 minutes from beginning to end. It was so easy, and it saved us a lot of time and inconvenience. Oh, and don’t worry if you forget some of the things the doctor tells you. All of the information you need is saved right in the app so you can reference it later.
Are you interested in trying it for yourself? Good news! We have a promo code for first-time patients to receive a free medical, pediatric, or psychology visit! Just enter code GAMEON for a free doctor’s video visit!

This is such a great service. There aren’t many things I dislike more than sitting in a waiting room at the doctor’s office.

It is not easy to get a doctor’s appointment–and as follows Murphy’s Laws–especially when you really need one! This would be great if you actually know what is wrong and it can be solved with an on line visit!

I love this idea! With 6 kids it can often be hard for me to pack everyone up for an appointment and this way I wouldn’t have to worry. I think this is a great idea.
For someone like me who doesn’t like going to a doctor’s clinic, this is perfect. I will look more into this.

There have been times in the past that I wasn’t up to making a trip to the doctor’s office. This would’ve been convenient then.

Do they do “excused absence” notes? Some schools require a doctors visit now for a “sick” day – even if it is one… 🙁
