Real Shades Are Not Just for Kids Anymore! + Giveaway
I don’t kid around when it comes to sun protection for me and my family. If we’re going to be out in the sun, there will definitely be sunscreen. When we’re at the beach, there will also be umbrellas for shade and even clothing like rash guards that protect skin even further. Of course, skin isn’t the only thing we need to protect; we have to take care of our eyes, too! Did you know that children’s eyes are at increased risk of permanent damage from sunlight until they’re 10 years old? Eye protection is non-negotiable.
Eye protection, obviously, means sunglasses, and while it’s easy enough for adults to find glasses with 100% UVA/UVB protection, I’ve noticed that kids’ glasses are sometimes lacking in that area, and the ones with full protection aren’t always the style that kids would want to wear. Thankfully, Real Shades (you may know them as Real Kids Shades) has a brand new look and a full line of sunglasses for the whole family. That’s right; in addition to the quality sunglasses you’ve loved for your younger kids, they now offer sizes and styles that young adults and even adults will want to wear.
Before I show you the awesome glasses we’ve been wearing, I want to tell you my favorite thing about Real Shades: their commitment to promoting eye health. Real Shades has partnered with Prevent Blindness America, a volunteer organization that focuses on increasing awareness and understanding of the long-term danger of unprotected sun exposure to children’s eyes. Prevent Blindness America is dedicated to fighting blindness and saving sight through education and outreach, and Real Shades is helping them achieve that goal by donating 20% of the proceeds from the sale of every pair of Star Pupil sunglasses.
Now, on to the sunglasses my kids are enjoying: Breeze and Bolt.
The Breeze style is so adorable! They have a feminine design that’s a nod to the glamorous styles popular today, but decorated with fun color combinations and youthful features that kids will love. The frames are a squared-off wrap style to protects from peripheral light, and they feature 100% UVA/UVB protection, and P2 lens technology, which provides both polarized and polycarbonate lenses.
The Bolt style features a sportier style, again with a wrap design to protect peripherally. These frames feature both neutral and bold colors, and come in a variety of two-color combinations. Like the Breeze style, Bolt offers 100% UVA/UVB protection, P2 technology, and are created to fit kids perfectly.
The best part about both the Breeze and Bolt sunglasses is their Flex-Fit design. Flex-Fit glasses can bend, flex, drop, and take a beating without breaking. Their lenses are also shatterproof, so these sunglasses can withstand all the twists and turns your kids can throw at them without damaging or breaking them. You might even say they’re kidproof!
My kids love their Real Shades sunglasses, and I highly recommend them. In fact, we’re giving away a pair of sunglasses to one lucky reader! For a chance to win the style of your choice, make sure to enter the giveaway below.
