React Sidekick Takes Personal Safety to the Next Level
This post is brought to you by React Mobile.
You may remember a really cool app we reviewed last year called React Mobile.
React Mobile is a personal safety app available for both Apple and Droid products, and it allows you to connect with other people to keep track of your or their location, and to call out for help with the touch of a button. There are so many different uses for this app, the options are almost endless. Heading out for a run but feeling a little uncomfortable about the location? Walking through a dark parking lot by yourself? Want to make sure your roommate is safe after a blind date? React Mobile can cover you and your loved ones through all these scenarios with their easy to use app.
As if that weren’t great enough, now React Mobile is taking safety to the next level with their React Sidekick.
The React Sidekick is currently in its Kickstarter phase, and I think you’ll definitely be interested in taking a look at this campaign.
The React Sidekick will put security right at the user’s fingertips, with no need to locate and unlock a cell phone to use the app. In an emergency, you can just click your Sidekick button and an alert will be sent out to your pre-determined network of those you trust. When you activate your Sidekick emergency button, the friends and family on your React network will receive a text message and email telling them where you are and that you need help. You can also put your emergency alerts on Facebook!
As with the React Mobile app, the scenarios for use are plenty. One problem with phones is they’re inconvenient to carry in your hand all the time, and when seconds count, you don’t want to waste time digging through your purse or entering passcodes. With the Sidekick, you can clip the small device to your clothing or keychain and push one physical button to activate the emergency signals. It couldn’t be easier, and it could be a lifesaver.
The React Sidekick will sell for only $49.99, and the accompanying React Mobile app is totally free in the iTunes App Store and Google Play. It’s really a small price to pay for safety, and I can ‘t wait until the Sidekick is released. Hopefully none of us will ever need it, but the peace of mind it offers is invaluable.

I don’t have the right type phone to use with this but it certainly does sound like something everyone should have.

I need to get this for when I go on runs. My husband worries about me going on runs and this would help put each of our minds at ease a bit.
I really like this concept. My husband gets very nervous about my safety when I’m out shopping by myself. This would give him peace of mind.
