React Mobile: A Free App to Keep You & Your Family Safe
This was brought to you by AdvertiseWithBloggers.com and React Mobile.
Today we would like to share with you a really useful app for both iPhone and Android phones, called React Mobile.
React Mobile is a personal safety app, and we can see it being used in a variety of ways that could benefit just about everyone. The app lets you connect with other people to keep track of their location or to allow them to keep track of yours. How might this be useful? Here are a few ideas:
- You’re heading out for a run, but felt a little uncomfortable with someone you saw last time. Wouldn’t it be nice if your husband could know exactly where you are in case you need help?
- You and your children are at the mall, and you’re ready to let them venture off shopping on their own for the first time. Having some way to know their location in the mall would be a big comfort.
- Your roommate is meeting a blind date for dinner, and you want to make sure she has a quick way to let you know if she needs you. React Mobile can let you connect instantly.
Of course, those are only a few ideas, but you get the picture – there are plenty of ways this app can help you. Best of all, the app is free, multi-platform, easy to use, and the people you want to connect with don’t necessarily need to have the app themselves.
Here’s some brief information about how the app works:
First you’ll want to add your emergency contacts. You can do this by allowing the app to access your contact list, or you can also do it manually. Once the contacts are in, you can allow them to “Follow” you, which lets them keep track of your location. Don’t worry; you can set this as a temporary feature, so you won’t be tracked all the time. (For example, if you’re going for a run, you can have someone “Follow” you for 30 minutes, and then the permissions will expire).
You can also send a group SMS to your contacts. This could be anything from “Hey guys, going for a run, keep track of me for awhile” to “Accidentally ate something with peanuts, please bring my EpiPen ASAP!” (And they’ll already know your exact location, which will save tons of time in a time-sensitive situation).
Your primary tool for emergencies is the Shield. When everything is okay, your Shield is inactive. If trouble arises, simply touch the Shield to activate it and send an SOS call for help.
When your Shield is activated (with just one touch), two things happen. 1. A pop-up box with a quick option for dialing 911 appears (you can click cancel if that’s not needed), and 2. A text message goes out to your emergency contacts, letting them know you’re having an emergency and showing them your exact location. For this feature, your contacts do not need the app on their phone; once you’ve entered their phone numbers, their alert will come as a regular text message to their cell phones.
I can definitely see this app being really useful in an emergency, and a big comfort knowing it connects you to those you need, when you need it. Of course, it’s like any other app: it has to be up and running for you to use it. But assuming you fire it up as soon as you embark on whatever adventure you find yourself having, it will be there, ready to activate and reach out when you can’t.
To download React Mobile for free, just visit the iTunes App Store or Google Play. For more information about React Mobile, check out their website, or find them on Twitter and Facebook.

I can see where this would be a great app for people of any lifestyle to have. I really connected with your statement about a roommate going on a blind date; there were times in college when my roommates and I would get busy and lose touch over a weekend, which was so unsafe when we were the only ones to notice if someone didn’t show up at home. This would have been a nice way to check in and make sure that we were all safe!

I love this app, we used it the other day when we had walked to the park and a strange man showed up. I was able to send an alert to my husband and then call him once we got to a safe place. He was able to track us to make sure we were going at a walking pace and constantly moving.
