The Perfect Mother’s Day Movie Night
Thanks to Movies Anywhere for giving me a complimentary family movie night kit to host my own in-home movie night. All opinions are my own.
Life is hectic. We have too many things to get done every day, and whole weeks pass by in a blur. Even though I’m with my kids all the time, I don’t feel like nearly enough of that time is spent connecting with them. Mother’s Day weekend is the perfect excuse to take a break from everything else and make every minute about being with the family. What are we going to do? We’ll do some hiking, some baking, and to unwind at the end of the day, we’re definitely going to have a family movie night! We might even have two of them.
To prepare, I’ve loaded up my Movies Anywhere account with some titles that the whole family will enjoy watching together:
- Homeward Bound
- The Sound of Music
- How to Train Your Dragon
- Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle
With Movies Anywhere, you can watch movies from different studios (Disney, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Twentieth Century Fox, Universal Pictures, and Warner Bros. Entertainment) purchased through different services (Amazon, Vudu, Fandango, iTunes, and Google) across different devices. Your entire digital film library is conveniently accessible from one place, which means that for the first time ever, I’m actually making use of my digital movies.
It also means that there are tons of titles available, so if the idea of celebrating Mother’s Day with a family movie night doesn’t float your boat, you can try one of these other themes instead:
- Ladies Night – Fun movies for girlfriends to watch together that focus on friendship and relationships
- I’ve Got This / Strong Mama – Mom stories that inspire us with strong female characters that we look up to
- So Many Feelings – Emotional movies that make you ugly-cry
- Just For Me – Female empowerment films that always put you in a good mood
It’s your day, so do what makes you happy! As for me, I’m looking forward to cuddling on the couch with the kids and eating lots of popcorn while watching some great family films.
I’m especially excited to finally watch Homeward Bound together! I’ve been meaning to introduce my children to that classic for a long time, but until now, I only had it on VHS. Not only do I not need to bother hooking up the old VCR, I don’t even have to dig through my mess of a movie closet. And if my tired kids doze off on the family room couch during one of the movies, we can pause it and pick it up the next morning when the kids wake up early and climb into bed with me. Movies Anywhere just makes it so easy!
