Perfect Gifts for Expecting Moms
How many of you have been to a baby shower this year? I’ve been to three, and it’s only June. Needless to say, after your early 30s, knowing what to buy for a baby shower is easy: either grab something on their registry, or get one of the millions of things you know all babies need.
Baby showers are just one many ways we like to help expecting moms prepare for their baby, but I think sometimes we forget about the mom-to-be herself. Pregnancy is a wonderful, amazing time full of pure joy, but it also comes with its own set of problems and issues that can cause stress. In light of that, I’ve decided that the next time I have a friend who is pregnant, I’m going to treat her to a little something special that she can use during the pregancy. I’ve looked at many different products and have narrowed it down to five of my favorite gifts for expecting moms. Take a look at these:
Skin issues change during and after pregnancy, and Boppy has a full line of nourishing skincare products to take care of any mom’s needs. Boppy Bloom’s Skincare Collection offers a Whipped Belly Butter that prevents stretch marks, a Soothing Breast Balm the help provide relief from sore or cracked nipples after nursing, a Non-Greasy Renewing Body Oil with a delicious white citrus shea scent, and a Stretch Mark Cream that provides rich moisture from a blend of coconut oil, shea butter, and vitamin E. All four Boppy skincare products are hypoallergenic, paraben-free, and phthalate-free.
This sweet gift is perfect for expecting moms! It’s an adorable stuffed animal (choose from bears, monkeys, giraffes, hippos, and more) that comes with a heart-shaped recording device. Moms-to-be can take the device to their ultrasound appointment and use it to record the sound of baby’s heartbeat in utero. The recorder is then placed in the stuffed animal and can be played anytime you want to hear baby’s heart. It’s such a great way to preserve that precious sound, and it would make a great addition to the nursery once baby has arrived.
You may already know about All Good, as they have an already-popular line of organic skincare and healing products. They’ve just released an awesome New Mom Gift set, which is loaded with goodies perfect for expecting moms. Included in the All Good Organic set are: Hand Sanitizer, Coconut Lip Balm, Maroon Creek Tinted Lip Balm, Coconut Oil, Lavender Body Lotion, and Goop (recently named the #1 bathroom staple – no more diaper rash!). All Good products are free of nasty chemicals, so mom and baby can safely nourish their skin.
mykind Organics Prenatal Multi Vitamins
I’ve spent a lot of time looking at vitamins, and one thing I’ve found is that tons of them, even some prescription prenatal vitamins, are loaded with fillers and additives. Some even have artificial colors, which just seems crazy to me. No pregnant woman wants or needs those bad-for-you ingredients going into their bodies, especially in the form of vitamins. Thankfully there are some brands who avoid all those nasty ingredients, like mykind Organics. Their Prenatal Multi is made from real whole food like organic fruits, veggies, and herbs. They even feature a stomach-soothing blend of ginger and peppermint to help with nausea, which I love. These vitamins are certified organic, non-GMO verified, certified gluten-free, and certified vegan.
One thing I found difficult when pregnant was sleeping on my side. It’s safer for the baby, but for back sleepers like me, it can be really tricky to make it happen. Falling asleep on my side was no big deal, but I constantly woke up on my back. The Rest-Rite Sleep Positioner makes it super easy to fall asleep on your side and stay there! It’s a little “cup” that adheres to your back, and as you shift in your sleep it gently reminds you to go back to your side. From a good night’s sleep to a power nap, getting plenty of rest is crucial for moms-to-be, and Rest-Rite takes the stress out of sleep positions. The cup’s adhesive is residue-free and medical-grade, and the device itself is lightweight and comfortable. You won’t even know you’re wearing it. As an aside, I’d like to point out that this device could be excellent for anyone who snores while asleep on their back.
I love all of these ideas, and I think any of them would be perfect on their own as an addition to a baby shower gift. They would also be spectacular as a gift basket for the special expecting mom in your life! To learn more about or to purchase any of the featured products, just follow the links above. Make sure to come back and tell us your favorites!

I’m grandma of three. In my age group, we’re a bit past having babies. With my first, they rented a hall and surprised me with a huge shower. Diaper service was my favorite gift.
Sleeping on my side which is how I usually sleep was also very uncomfortable for me
