Ozeri Green Earth Ceramic Non-Stick Pan Review
A few years ago, I gave up my non-stick pots and pans in favor of stainless steel. Seeing bits and pieces of pan coating floating in your food is kind of a turn off. I’m glad I made the switch because it’s a safer option for me and my family, but cooking with stainless steel has taken some getting used to. To be completely honest, I still haven’t mastered it. This means food gets stuck, food occasionally gets ruined, and there is way too much soaking and scrubbing in my life.
It was recently brought to my attention that there are other options out there for those of us who want non-stick pans but don’t want the nasty, toxic chemicals that typically go along with them. Ozeri makes wonderful products like these, and they were kind enough to send me a complimentary 8″ frying pan to review.
Ozeri’s Green Earth Pan uses a natural ceramic coating that is completely free of PTFE (known to release toxic chemicals at high temps), PFOA (a known pollutant that’s under investigation by the EPA), and other dangerous chemicals. Even under high temperatures, the ceramic coating of the Green Earth Pan never releases toxins into your food or the environment.
The first thing you’ll want to do is give your pan a warm, sudsy bath–but you probably could have guessed that. Ozeri suggests seasoning the pan with a small amount of oil; I found that just a little drop of vegetable oil was enough. A favorite breakfast around here is silver dollar pancakes, so that’s what I’ve used this pan for the most often.
The Green Earth Pan conducts heat better than traditional pans, so even using a lower heat setting, these pancakes cook up faster than usual. I need every extra minute in the morning, so this was an unexpected but very nice bonus for me. Plus, the kids go crazy over the honeycomb pattern that the pan leaves on their pancakes.
You have to admit that it is kind of cute.
Preparing pancakes is a breeze with my new pan, but I like it for making scrambled eggs even better. Have you ever tried to make scrambled eggs in a stainless steel pan? They stick. I know it’s possible to cook them without the mess, but it’s not easy, and it’s been my biggest issue since switching to stainless. With my Green Earth Pan, I love making scrambled eggs again.
I love making everything in this pan. It cooks quickly and evenly, and the handle doesn’t get hot. Clean up? You can hardly tell the pan needs to be washed after you’ve used it, so it takes almost no effort to clean. It’s almost too good to be true. As with other non-stick pans, you’ll want to avoid using any sharp utensils with this one. You don’t want to scratch and damage that pretty surface. Stick with something like the high-heat silicone spatulas I use, and you’re pan will be healthy and happy–like you!
You can pick up your own Green Earth Pan on Amazon.com. The pan I’m using is 8″, but it’s also available in 10″ and 12″.
What would you cook first in your Green Earth Pan?
Ozerio provided a free 8″ Green Earth Pan in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed here are my own.

I am in the market for a couple of new pans, too. The ones I have now are getting pretty old and I need to be replaced badly.

I wish that I knew about these pans last fall – we just purchased a new set of stainless pans, these would have been a great option for us. I bet my son would go crazy offer the honeycomb pattern, too.

I love Ozeri products. I must always use non stick pans because it’s terrible when the food sticks and falls apart. I would make some scrambled eggs with the pan! Because those are the hardest to get not to stick.

I like that the handle doesn’t get hot. It’s so surprising when you have that happen with a pan, it should be a given that it won’t happen, but that’s not always the case.

YES!!! They’d be for eggs over here. It’s so annoying when eggs stick to the pan, and I’m totally with you on the toxins being a concern. I’m glad it’s not with Ozeri!

What a neat sounding pan! I have to admit I do love a good non stick on – I don’t like slathering things in oil. x
