The Nourish Essential Oils Giveaway and Free Webinar
Thank you to The Nourish for providing the products discussed in this post. All opinions are my own.
Do you use essential oils? I’ve recently begun using them, and I’m hooked.
If you’re not familiar with what they are and how they work: essential oils are the oils naturally found in plants, made of aromatic compounds. They been used throughout history for medicinal and therapeutic purposes. And they smell good, too. 🙂
Essential oils have tons of uses that I wasn’t aware of until I spoke with Tricia Crookston from The Nourish, where you can find a huge selection of dōTERRA products. If you haven’t heard of dōTERRA, it’s a company that sells very high quality essential oils, classified as Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade; this means they contain no fillers or artificial ingredients. In other words, they’re really good.
Tricia kindly sent along a sampling of oils and the awesome book Modern Essentials: A Contemporary Guide to the Therapeutic Use of Essential Oils, which has a crazy amount of useful information.
I’ve been trying out the oils, and there are some I think are particularly great. I have some single oils and some blends (a combination of several oils) to recommend; they’re all wonderful, but if you’ve never used essential oils, I think these are especially good to start out with.
Lavender Oil – Tricia calls lavender the “Swiss Army Knife” of oils, and it really is. There are so many uses for it! It helps you sleep, works well to enhance moisturizers, and is even good for scrapes and cuts.
On Guard – This is a blend, and it’s great for cold and flu season! It serves as an antibacterial agent, and can be used in place of those alcohol-filled hand sanitizers you’ve probably used in the past. On Guard is a strong germ barrier.
Peppermint Oil – Another good oil for cold and flu season, peppermint oil helps with respiratory issues like head and chest congestion. It’s good for settling upset stomachs, and let me tell you – it worked wonders on a pulled muscle in my neck. It was much better than any pain relief cream I’ve used.
As you can see, every essential oil has plenty of uses! I know it can be a little confusing to get started with something like oils, as there is a lot to learn. This is where Tricia comes in! She offers FREE webinars from The Nourish as a simple and convenient way to learn. The webinars will teach you all about essential oils for things like allergies, asthma, arthritis, headaches, and more. Learn how to makeover your medicine cabinet with safe alternatives! And did I mention they’re totally free?

I would love to use oils to help with headaches, soothe sore muscles, and learn how to use oils instead of some current medications I am taking.
I’d like to use them with cold and flu season coming, and as a good alternative to OTC meds. The other night my 2 year old was sick and I had to ask myself if I wanted to try the children’s pepto with her and risk her not keeping it down, or if she’d have a bad reaction to it I’ve read about an EO that you can just rub onto their tummy to help them! I don’t think I’d have to ask questions like that when using EOs. (Obviously I’d need to check safety for children and dosage/how to give it to them)
I’m a lover of tea tree oil and have yet to try anything else. Great giveaway, thanks for the chance!!
We just started using them. I just made a homemade vapor rub tonight with peppermint & eucalyptus! SO excited!

My daughter’s therapist turned her on to essential oils. She uses them daily to calm herself — she never leaves the house without some on her wrist. I have started experimenting with them too, and I have to say that Lavender really is as relaxing as can be. I can’t wait to get to explore a little further!
