National Geographic Kids Books Birthday Prize Pack Giveaway
Over the summer, my kids and I attended a free playdate event at a local park, and one of the activities was a book swap. My daughter came across a Nat Geo Kids Almanac from 2017, and she dove across the table to snatch it up before someone else did. It didn’t bother her one bit that it was last year’s edition; she just knew that it was a book that would be bursting full of interesting images and information.
You see, we already have a lot of other National Geographic Kids books, so both of my kids are pretty familiar with how amazing they are, and they are always happy to find new ones. In fact, they’re eager to grow their collection. When your kids express interest in something that is both educational and entertaining, well, that’s one of those things you just don’t say no to. (Figuring out where to put all of those books is an entirely different issue.)
Needless to say, when National Geographic Kids Books offered to send us a fabulous package to share with you guys, I didn’t hesitate to accept. By the time you’re done reading this, I think you’ll see why kids love these books so much and how they’d make excellent gifts for holidays and birthdays.
National Geographic Kids Almanac 2019. This is by far my kids’ favorite, and I don’t find it at all surprising that it’s the best selling almanac for kids on the planet. What’s in it? Everything! Science, nature, technology, and more are presented in a way that engages the attention of the most reluctant reader, and it’s all punctuated with colorful images. Throw in some jokes, games, crafts, and weird facts, and you’ve got a book your child won’t want to put down. Plus this year’s Almanac Challenge 2019—Lions Forever!—encourages kids to get involved and make a difference. The focus is on highlighting the threats lions face and the importance of saving them. Kids are encouraged to visit natgeokids.com/almanac

Real or Fake? 3. Can you detect a hoax from the real deal? See right through photo trickery? Spot the phony logic in a story in seconds? Kids put their sleuthing skills to work in this riotously fun book to see if they can find the truth behind bizarre stories, faulty facts, iffy lists, news headlines, and more. Check the Fib-o-Meter to find out! Complete with incredible photos and quirky collage art, this is another Nat Geo Kids book you have to read to believe…or disbelieve! This is actually our first Real or Fake book, and the kids think it’s just hilarious.
Extreme Records. I remember being fascinated by records books when I was a child, and it’s an interest that both of my children seem to have inherited from me, so they really love this one. As the name implies, this record book takes it to the extreme as it explores the most out-there records the world has to offer. Curious about odd ancient creatures? Wondering about the most dangerous jobs around? Interested in the deadliest animals on Earth? Extreme Records will satisfy those inquiring minds with Case Studies, Spotlights, and Creature Features. Each chapter ends with fun and games. Rank the extremes you read about, do some myth-busting, and even try out a delicious ice cream recipe!
Little Kids First Big Book of Why 2. The original Big Book of Why was one of our very first Nat Geo Kids books, and we still look at it often. Every parent knows that kids have tons of “Why?” questions. This book looks to answer as many as possible with age-appropriate explanations to questions like “Why do dogs sniff everything?”, “Why do I burp?”, and “Why is ocean water salty?”. This book inspires kids to be curious, ask questions, and explore the world around them.
National Geographic Kids Birthday Cards. Make birthdays magical with this book, filled with creative activities, cool tips, amazing photos, and 30 cool pull-out birthday postcards.
These books are definitely worth making space for. Don’t keep all these goodies for yourself though. With the start of school and what I refer to as “birthday season”, I find having a stash of gifts on hand makes life a little easier, and National Geographic Kids Books are just right for that. They work for both boys and girls of all ages, they’re affordable, and they’re fun!
Our friends at National Geographic Kids are offering you a chance to win this same package of books! Enter via the Giveaway Tools form below. Giveaway is open to US residents who are 18 and older. Ends 10/7/18 at 11:59 PM ET. Good luck!

I think it very important for a child to have a positive role model. But more importantly to have self confidence in themselves even without a role model,
I think it is super important for kids to have role models and to teach them values that are important
I think it is important for kids to have role models. If close family and friends are good people, most children will be less likely to have to look to celebrities for guidance.
I think role models are very important, but not celebrities. Should be parents, teacher, pastor etc…
I think it is important for kids to have good role models. It helps teach the kids right and wrong. My husband and I try to be but the kids look to my dad (their grandpa) as their role model before. They are really close with my parents.
Yes and I love to encourage both younger and older role models both have a wealth of knowledge!
I think it’s beneficial to have role models for our children. I am ok with athletes as role models if it’s for the right reasons. I also think having multiple role models is a great thing.
The grandkids would love this!
I think it is super important for kids to have role models, We as grandparents try to always support our grandkids in any way we can. We have a farm and try to let them stay whenever they can come and visit and we try to teach them good values and any skill to help them in their future.
I love National Geographic and how many different topics you can learn from. History, animals, the World. Possibilities are endless!
Children learn what they live. Positive attitudes are especially important.
