Make ANY Beverage Fizzy with the Drinkmate Home Carbonation System
For years I’ve had a guilty pleasure that I regularly struggle with: soda. I know it’s not in line with the healthy foods and drinks important to us here at Game on Mom, but bear with me.
It’s not the sugar or caffeine I love; it’s the fizz. I am totally hooked on carbonated drinks. Morning, noon, and night, I’m reaching for something fizzy. Alas, I’m getting older and trying to maintain a healthier lifestyle, so sodas clearly aren’t the best choice. What’s a girl to do?
Maybe she could make her own fizzy drinks? Yes please!
I’ve known about products that let you make your own sodas at home for a while now, so I was super excited when iDrink Products asked if we wanted to try out the DrinkMate system.
When I opened the box, I immediately realized there was so much more to this system than just making sodas. For some reason it hadn’t really occurred to me that soda was only the tip of the iceberg. In fact, the DrinkMate is the only carbonated beverage maker that allows you to carbonate anything.
Before I tell you some of the fun things you can fizz up, let me tell you how the system works (and believe me, it’s so easy).
As you know, carbonation is what makes a still drink fizzy, so the system uses a CO2 cartridge (included in your starter kit). All you have to do is pick a liquid to carbonate, add it to the (included) bottle, and push a button that quickly pumps the CO2 into the drink and causes it to beautifully “fizz up.” The design and process are very intuitive, and it honestly could not be easier. Oh, and it’s totally portable: there are no cords, cables, or batteries required. The CO2 cartridge does all of the work for you!
So. What can you carbonate? As I mentioned, the DrinkMate helps you carbonate anything you want! You can go simple and make sparkling water, or you can go fancy and create a custom fizzy cocktail. You could make fun fizzy fruit juices, or carbonate your white wine for a champagne-like treat.
My first creation was simple: I added some bubbles to still water, poured it over ice, and added fresh lemon juice. Easy and refreshing! I often buy flavored sparkling water (I won’t name the brand, but I bet you know it), and this was even better. Adding fresh fruit just really takes it above and beyond, and I’m looking forward to making some orange water. I’m also planning to make fizzy cocktails for an upcoming holiday party, and there are some delicious recipes and suggestions available on the DrinkMate website. Take a look and tell us what you think sounds yummy (I’m going to make the Winter Blossom cocktail).
Right now the DrinkMate system is available to purchase at Amazon.com or on iDrinkProducts.com. It comes in three color choices (black, red, or white), and the system includes a drink bottle and a small CO2 cylinder. It’s a fun addition to any kitchen, and it would especially come in handy for the holidays. Custom champagne for all your guests at midnight on New Year’s Eve? Perfect.
