KICKER KPw2 Portable Bluetooth Speaker: Water, Dust, & Kid Resistant
As I write this post, I’m thinking about Lloyd’s boombox scene from the movie Say Anything. Portable music was limited in the ’80s, so he did what he could, raising that stereo proudly above his head for all the world (and Diane) to hear. My friends and I also made use of a boombox in those good ol’ days; we would take it to my backyard and play New Kids on the Block tapes while we performed choreographed bicycle routines to Step By Step. We were really cool.
Luckily, portable music is much easier in 2015. We have smartphones and Bluetooth and a huge variety of speakers and sound systems to choose from, which is great. Sometimes, though, there are so many options it seems impossible to know which product is the best, which is why I want to save you the trouble and tell you about the newest Kicker speaker.
You may already be familiar with the Kicker name, as they cover everything from car and marine audio to personal speakers for your home or on-the-go. The Kicker KPw2 Bluetooth Speaker is one of the newest devices from the Kicker line, and I love it.
The sound of the KPw2 is awesome: it’s clear and rich, not “tinny” at all, and has plenty of power to be heard wherever you want it. We’ve used it in a few different places, including in the house (the sound nicely carries, and you can also take the speaker with you from room to room as you clean). We’ve also used it in the back yard while the weather was warm enough to enjoy it. It’s perfect for barbecues or drinks on the patio, and it will be a great addition to any holiday party. The KPw2 is also a good choice for the beach, if you’d like to take along some music for a fun sunny day. With other speakers, you may worry about sand and water, but there’s no fear with this one. It’s watertight and weatherproof! If it gets a little sandy or if your kids’ sticky fingers touch it too much, it’s no big deal – you can easily wash it off.
As for the technical side, it has a rechargeable lithium battery that will cover a full 10 hours of play. The speaker comes in black or white options. As mentioned, it’s waterproof, rated to IPx5, but just keep in mind it’s not meant as a floater speaker. It also serves as a charger, which is awesome, because you don’t have to worry about your phone running out of power while you’re enjoying your music. The KPw2 is about the size of a water bottle, so you can easily take it along anywhere you go. The speaker effortlessly pairs with your device through Bluetooth, so there are no cables necessary, but the charging capability does use either a micro-USB or power adapter. Honestly, it couldn’t be easier to use and the sound is fantastic.
So, whether you want to blast Peter Gabriel outside your true love’s window or you just want to listen to music without being tied to a plugged-in device, check out the Kicker KPw2 Bluetooth Speaker. The KPw2 will be available soon on Kicker.com, and don’t forget to follow Kicker on Facebook and Twitter to stay up to date on new products and specials.

This looks really cool. I don’t have a port in my car to plug in my iPhone, so this could be a good way to get to play my music in the car!
I love portable speakers like this one. They are so convenient and useful to take places.

How cool! My son will love this because it is waterproof. He can use this even in the shower.
I have to have this speaker. I always want to have music playing while I do every stuff. The most boring task is in the laundry room and since this is waterproof, I won’t have any worry if it accidentally falls in the wash!
