Jamberry Nail Wraps Review & Giveaway
A complimentary sheet of Jamberry Nail Wraps was provided for review. All opinions are 100% my own.
I love, love, love fun nail polishes and designs. You’ll rarely see me without painted finger nails, and never see me without painted toe nails. It’s just my thing!
That said, it is so annoying to constantly keep up with my nails. My nails are weak and break all the time, which means my polish chips easily and starts to look worn and unfortunate in no time. Not only that, I’m not very talented when it comes to the awesome nail designs I see on Pinterest. I give them a try, and it looks like I dunked my hands in a paint can. So that leaves me with few choices, really – I can stick with solid colors and use base and top coats to make them last longer, and I can use nail wraps for the cute designs I can’t accomplish on my own.
If you haven’t used nail wraps, you’re missing out. They’ve been around a while now, so there are different brands to choose from. Personally, I think the best designs are offered by Jamberry.
I recently tried out Jamberry’s Atlantis design. I am in love with gradient and ombré patterns, but there is absolutely no way I can do them on my own. I’ve tried, and it is not pretty. Luckily, Jamberry’s nail wraps do the hard part for you. All you have to do is apply them!
Just look at that blend! So perfect for the mermaid in me.
Like most nail wraps, to apply your Jamberry nails, you’ll need a few things: alcohol, an orange stick and/or cuticle stick, small scissors, a nail file, and a heat source like a hair dryer. Make sure to use the alcohol wipes or alcohol on a cotton ball to wipe down your nail first, and make sure your cuticles are cleaned up and pushed back. Jamberry nails come on a sheet with a variety of sizes, and you will simply pick out the shape that works best for each nail. Peel it off the sheet with an orange stick, use your heat source on the wrap for a few seconds to make it softer and more pliable, and then apply it to your nail. Trim the excess with scissors, then file the tip down, and use your heat source for a few more seconds to help seal the wrap onto your nail.
It might sound complicated, but it’s defintely not. Here’s an instruction video that shows the best way to apply Jamberry nail wraps:
Here’s my final look, or my Fancy Mermaid Nails, as I lovingly call them:
I’ve used plenty of nail wraps in the past, and as I said earlier, I think Jamberry definitely has the cutest designs. I also think the thickness of Jamberry wraps is superior to others and increases the staying power of the wrap. Unfortunately, I did have some difficulty with choosing a size. As you can see on the sheets above, there are a variety of sizes, but there isn’t a lot of variation in the curve or “flatness” at the end of the wraps. I have some nails that are really round at the base, and others that are totally straight (my thumb, for example). I had a really hard time finding a wrap to work well with my flatter nails. Other brands I’ve used offer more variety in shape, so I expected more and was a little disappointed for that reason alone. If you have more uniformity in your nail shape, you may not have an issue with that at all, but I do hope Jamberry will find a way to offer a little more flexibility in that area.
All in all, though, I do love nail wraps, and I especially love the gradient pattern on these Jamberry Atlantis wraps. If you want to try out fun designs you can’t accomplish on your own, you should give them a try. One sheet is equal to 2 manis and 2 pedis, and they are always buy 3 sheets get 1 free!
