iCoffee Opus Single-Serve Brewer with SpinBrew Technology
I know by now you’re all familiar with those coffee makers that use K-sized cups and make a single serving of coffee (or tea, hot chocolate, you name it). I’ve wanted one since the first time I saw them, but I never got around to buying one. To be honest, I’m glad I waited. Initially there was one brand, but now there are several to choose from, and I think the best of those is Remington’s iCoffee line. I am so excited that Remington sent me the iCoffee Opus™ to try out, because it’s fantastic!
Each of the K-sized cup compatible coffee makers on the market have their own style of brewing, but the iCoffee system has gone above and beyond the crowd with their SpinBrew™ spinning needle technology found in the iCoffee Opus™ model. SpinBrew™ technology results in a brewed coffee that is dramatically smoother and has a more pleasant aftertaste and aroma than their competitor’s stationary needle brewing method. Want proof? The Ohio State University’s Sensory Science Group conducted tests that show iCoffee as the clear winner, proving the iCoffee’s brew is far less ashy/burnt, bitter, astringent, and sour than the competitor.
Brewing beverages with the iCoffee Opus™ couldn’t be easier, no matter what type of mug or cup you prefer. As you can see, just about any size works! A drip pan is included to catch any drops that might bounce out of your mug, and it also serves as a way to keep your mug closer to the point where liquid pours from the brewer. If you have a travel-sized mug, that’s no problem! Just pop off the drip pan and place your mug directly on the counter. In no time at all, you’re ready to enjoy a mug of coffee at the table, or a travel mug in your car.
You may have also heard about some competitors’ models being recalled due to safety issues. In those models, severe burns can be caused by the brewer overheating and spraying hot liquid on users. The iCoffee put safety first, though, with it’s SafetyLock™ technology. Thanks to the SafetyLock™ two-step safety system, users are protected! During the first step, a mechanical lock secures the brew head during the brewing process, which means it will not open at any time during the brewing cycle. If the brew head is tampered with during brewing, a secondary electronic safety device instantly shuts off the flow of water, preventing burn-related injuries due to hot liquid escaping from the brew head. This SafetyLock™ feature is standard on the Opus™ model, and is coming soon to the Express™ and DaVinci™ models launching in February.
Like other similar brewers, you simply place your K-sized cup in the top, press the lid closed, and wait for a delicious cup of your favorite brewed drink…
…but there’s something iCoffee has and many competitors don’t.
My favorite feature of the iCoffee system is the iCup! The iCoffee system is compatible with ALL K-sized cups on the market, and it also comes with a reusable iCup which allows you to brew your favorite brand of ground coffee. This means you can reduce waste and continue to use your favorite blends in a convenient single-serving! I love this feature, and since many of the new comptetitors’ models are no longer compatible with the reusable cups, I think it makes iCoffee the clear choice.
I am in love with the iCoffee brewer, and I can already see it will get a lot of use! Between coffee, hot chocolate, and tea, it will be going constantly. And don’t forget, you can also make cold drinks with your brewer! Just remove the drip pan, fill a taller glass with ice, and place it beneath the spout as normal. As your brewed drink pours over the ice, you’re getting a homemade iced coffee or tea. It’s the best of both worlds!
The Opus™ is only one of the iCoffee models, so make sure to check out iCoffee.com to find the brewer that’s best for your needs. While you’re there, you’ll find plenty of resources to show how the iCoffee system out-performs its competitors. And when you’re ready to buy, iCoffee brewers can currently be found at Bed, Bath, and Beyond stores across the country.

This sounds perfect for a quick cup to go. I like that it’s not only a coffee maker. I prefer tea or hot chocolate.
the iCup sounds like a great idea since it is reusable and will save on all those K cups that are filling up the landfills. I love hot chocolate while hubby is the coffee fanatic at the house.
This coffee maker looks very nice. Thanks for sharing!
I like the style of this and cool how you can use big cups.

I love this, since I’ve noticed the lack of fresh coffee smell from brewers. I’d love to give this one a try, just for that reason!

This is amazing!! I recently got a Nespresso coffee machine – and love it. But, it’s not compatible with K-cups, which is a bummer. And I love that you can use ground coffee too – genius!
Oh the Icup is so economical, love this aspect about the machine. The various brew sizes is a real plus too for icoffee.
