How to Make Sushi at Home
Sushi–it’s everywhere these days. People are always posting pictures of it, and there seems to be a sushi restaurant in every strip mall I drive passed these days. Despite the high price tag, it’s definitely risen in popularity over the past several years. But did you know that with the right ingredients and tools, it’s actually quite easy to make sushi right in your own kitchen?
With the help of a little miracle called SushiQuik, I’ve been making sushi at home. This is something I never thought I’d be capable of doing, yet it’s true. I’m going to show you my very first attempt at making my own sushi so you can see for yourself how simple it is.
SushiQuik comes with a set of illustrated instructions that will guide you step by step through the process of making your sushi, and they also provide tips on preparing sushi rice as well as suggestions for fillings and ingredients.
You start by rolling the mat flat on the base and placing your nori sheet onto the mat. Next, you put the training frame on top of the nori sheet and spread the sushi rice using your fingers or the rice paddle. I definitely recommend going with the rice paddle; it makes it so easy to spread that sticky rice exactly where it needs to be.
Then you remove the frame and add your fillings. I’m totally using chicken here. (Yes, I know that’s not really sushi, but is delicious and I’m not hurting the dwindling tuna population.)
Once you’ve got all of your parts in place, you just use the mat to roll up your roll. Remove the roll to a cutting surface, place the roll cover over it, and let it help you evenly cut your roll into eight pieces.
There you have it: at-home sushi. It’s delicious and more affordable and convenient than going to a restaurant, plus I have control over the ingredients being used. This cost me 1/3rd as much to make as they charge at my local sushi joint, and I made mine with all organic ingredients, which makes it an even better value. And you saw how easy it was. There’s a reason SushiQuik is the #1 sushi-making kit in the world: it’s fun and you can get a perfect roll every time. Anyone can do this! Get 15% off your SushiQuik Starter Kit today! (Exp. 6/30)
