Have Unused Baby Gear? Sell it on BabyJunk!
This post is brought to you by BabyJunk.
A few weeks ago, I had my husband put six enormous bags into our storage area–where they joined four bags that had already been living there for quite some time. What were these bags filled with? Baby and toddler clothes. That little storage space is currently overflowing with everything from tiny socks to winter coats. Some of it is well worn, but most of it is in good or like new condition. Some of it is completely unused! And that’s just the clothing. Let’s not even get into the toys and other baby gear we have filling every closet and corner of our home.
If you’re a parent of little ones, this is something you can probably relate to, and I have just the solution: BabyJunk. BabyJunk is a new site where you can buy, sell, and trade new and used items for babies and kids. It’s sort of like Craigslist with a Pinterest twist.
Here are 8 reasons you will LOVE the new BabyJunk:
- It’s simple. You don’t need to be an Internet genius to use the site. Posting items and buying products are easy for anyone to do.
- It’s local. BabyJunk creates local community groups to sell and buy items. No 2-hour drives to buy a bottle dryer.
- It makes you money. Turn that closet full of baby clutter into cash by posting your items on BabyJunk.
- It’s eco-friendly. Thousands of pounds of baby gear end up in landfills every year. Give your old baby gear new life by reselling it.
- It’s pretty. With a Pinterest-esque layout, BabyJunk beats the competition in providing visually-appealing posts.
- It goes with you. Computer, tablet, or phone, BabyJunk works wherever you are shopping.
- It’s Facebook-friendly. See a carrier your best friend would love? A diaper bag that’s just your cousin’s style? BabyJunk is integrated with Facebook so that you can easily like, share, and announce your items for sale.
- It’s versatile. Use cash, credit card, or BabyJunk credits to buy and sell items easier and faster.
I have used Craigslist for buying baby items in the past, but this is so much better. The BabyJunk interface is obviously nicer to look at, and there is a lot more functionality for buying and selling here, but those aren’t the only reasons I like it. Because you log in with your Facebook account, BabyJunk transactions are a little less anonymous, which makes me feel a lot better about dealing with strangers.
Putting items up for sale on BabyJunk really is easy to do; all you need is a picture and some basic info on what you’re trying to sell. In just a few minutes, I had four things posted. And buying? Well, I don’t know about you, but buying things has never been a problem for me. This is a great way to get some fantastic deals on things you need. I wish this had been around back when I was trying to buy a glider!
As I mentioned, this is a brand new site, so they could really use help building up the communities. You know you have something you want to sell, so why not go ahead and add it to BabyJunk? Don’t forget to tell your friends about it too!

Good information. I donate everything but only because I am too lazy to take the time to sell.

Ok I’m super excited about this! My husband hates Craigslist he won’t allow me to buy or sell on there anymore. He thinks it’s too shady. This looks awesome I will definitely check this one out!

I had never heard of this site. Thanks for sharing. Reusing is such a green way to live. So much baby stuff is barely used and has a long life yet.
Great idea! Now maybe my step-daughter will empty our basement!
