Green Resolutions: TruKid Review & Giveaway!
Welcome to the Green Resolutions Giveaway Hop, hosted by Happy Mothering and Mama Chocolate. To help our readers start their New Year off Green, members of the Green Moms Network have come together to offer giveaways valued at $25 or more. For my addition to the Green Resolutions Giveaway Hop, I have a chance for you to win some TruKids products!
As you might already know, I have two small children. You might also know that I dislike unnecessary chemicals in the products I use. TruKid, a mom-run company that makes all natural body care for kids, is just right for me! They offer everything from body wash to sunscreen, and all of their products are non-toxic and free of parabens, phthalates, gluten, BPA, petroleum, and harsh chemicals. Because they contain only certified organic and natural ingredients rather than synthetic chemicals, their products are great for kids with sensitive skin or for any mother who is concerned about the safety of the products used on her children. I’m so excited to share with you the two products I recently had the opportunity to try!
Silly Shampoo
Best kids shampoo ever. Okay, before now I’d only tried 2 or 3 others, but this one blows those out of the water. It lathers nicely and has a very light fragrance, presumably from the citrus oils. The big news is that my daughter’s hair has never looked better. It looks shinier, bouncier, and healthier than ever. Seriously, I wish I had known about this before we had our Christmas pictures taken; they would have come out much better! Also, I really like that it comes with a typical shampoo bottle cap as well as a pump top. The pump is obviously very handy for dispensing shampoo, and it’s so convenient to have the second cap for when we’re traveling. And see how clear the shampoo is? That’s what happens when you don’t have a bunch of strange chemicals in the ingredients!
Hero Stick
The TruKid Hero Stick is a soothing balm that does not contain any parabens or artificial colors or fragrances. It protects and soothes skin irritations, making it perfect for eczema, rashes, bug bites, burns, and other boo-boos.
I love the Hero Stick for two reasons. 1. When my little girl gets a boo-boo, she can apply the stick herself. Toddlers just love to be able to do things on their own, so she is very proud when she has a chance to take care of herself with her Hero Stick. Plus, it really does make her feel better. 2. My son has eczema that gets especially bad in the winter. I have to apply something to soothe his skin, and a stick is so much better than some icky cream that gets all over me and his clothes. With the Hero Stick I have a much neater, happier little boy.
TruKid products are great because they’re natural and work well, but they’re also fun for the kids to use. The packaging is bright and colorful and they have happy-sounding names like “Silly Shampoo” and “Cool Conditioner”. Each product is stamped with a “TruKid Learning System” symbol so your child can tell which part of the body the product is meant for, and they’re also color-coded to identify its purpose, e.g., cleansing, nourishing, and sun protection. TruKid has even created some very entertaining rhymes and songs to sing while using their products. What kid wouldn’t enjoy that, right? All of this encourages children to be involved in taking care of their own bodies and have fun doing it!
What’s more is that TruKid strives to be as gentle on the environment as they are on children. Clearly, their natural ingredients make the planet happy, but they don’t stop there. They also use green packaging and replace traditional materials with those that are biodegradable or recyclable whenever possible. Three cheers for being eco-friendly!
Visit Trukid.com to purchase any of their all natural products. Get a FREE Sunny Days SPF 30+ face & body stick with any order of $30 or more when you use coupon code SUNNYMOM!
