Isn’t spring just beautiful? The flowers are blooming, the trees are green again, the birds are singing, the pollen is wreaking havoc on my life…
Yeah. Spring is fantastic, but the allergies that come with it are definitely not. Unfortunately, my family does have those allergies, and my son is especially susceptible to changes in the atmosphere and allergens he’s exposed to every day. This means he has a stuffy nose more often than not, and sometimes nose-blowing just isn’t enough to get the job done. Lately we’ve started using the Naspira Nasal-Oral Aspirator by NeilMed, and I’m really happy with the results.
Many parents already know about NeilMed, because they are the largest supplier of saline nasal irrigation systems in the world (like the NasaBulb and, my personal favorite, the NasaFlo Neti Pot) and have a growing line of products for baby care, ear care, and first aid. If you’re unfamiliar with their Naspira Nasal-Oral Aspirator, then let me tell you how you can get quick and easy relief for stuffy noses!
The Nasal-Oral Aspirator is a unique system with several features that combine to provide fast relief. It has a 2-in-1 design, which means you can use it two different ways. It can be used like the traditional NeilMed NasaBulb, which works by squeezing the bulb to create suction that clears mucus from the nose, and it can also be used as an oral suction device. This allows parents to create suction force in the same way you would when you suck through a straw. This creates a negative airflow and a longer duration of suction, which provides a simple way to quickly, effectively, and safely remove mucus. In case you’re wondering how that works without being gross (I definitely wondered), the Nasal-Oral Aspirator has in-line disposable filters that protect the parent from coming into contact with the mucus and reduce the risk of contamination. The valve is also one-way only, which prevents a large volume of air from the parent’s mouth accidentally blowing into the child’s nose. The product is made of high-grade silicone, pulls apart for easy cleaning, and is dishwasher safe.
The NeilMed Naspira Nasal-Oral Aspirator is great for babies, but it also works well for older children like mine with chronic stuffy noses. We start with a little saline spray to get things moving, and then the aspirator finishes the job. It’s been a lifesaver this spring.

Clear bulbs are the only way to go.
Our allergies have been just awful this year. This sounds perfect.
I learned that its sterilizable!! So awesome!!
That oral suction feature is brilliant.
I use the Bellied for myself. It’s awesome that they have them for kids now, too.
I’m looking at this and wondering why they aren’t always clear. It makes so much more sense.
My nephew has terrible allergies. Thanks for this timely post.
I’ve been using my own Nellimed this allergy season. It helps!
Our Family suffers terribly with allergies, and we’re all highly sensitive to pollen. It’s no fun to watch them all go through it. Especially the little ones.
I have terrible allergies. When my kids were infants, I used this small blue suction bulb to clear their noses. This looks like a torture device!
I often feel congested. Maybe I should try a NeilMed Naspira Nasal-Oral Aspirator.
It’s awful when children have a cold. Especially when they’re infants and can’t blow their nose.
I would love to try the NeilMed Ear Spin Safe for my family! This sounds like a great and economical way to keep our ears clean! 🙂
The NEILMED EAR SPIN SAFE also look really interesting! I had never seen these before!
