Find Fun Family Programming on Netflix!

When we moved into our current home, we decided to forego the exorbitantly priced cable packages and give Netflix a try. Three years later and Netflix is still our go-to resource for family movie night fun. It’s hard not to get hooked on the service when they make it so convenient to use. We have the traditional DVD in the mail program, but we also have the streaming version of Netflix. Not only do they have a huge selection of movies and television shows available on demand, but you can watch them from a ton of different devices. We’ve streamed from our TV, our computers, our phones, and my Kindle; it’s as easy as installing an app or visiting the web site. No matter where we are or what we’re doing, we can break out the Netflix if we’re in need of a little entertainment.
At the end of the workweek, we like to have what we call “Casual Friday”. This typically involves pizza for dinner followed by some relaxing TV time. The whole family enjoys this weekly tradition, but we seem to focus mostly on the children’s programming during these events. If you’re a parent of young ones, I’m sure you know how that goes! Netflix makes it easy to pick appropriate programming with their “Just for Kids” section, which features family favorites that are suitable for children from 2-12. All content is selected with help from Common Sense Media, who provides ratings, reviews, and information so we can be sure we’re choosing the right programming for our impressionable little ones. And oh, the content!
Yes! You can search by Princesses and Superheroes! I’m not sure if this is the “Just for Kids” section or the “Just for Melanie” section.
Their selection for kids has always been good, but it’s gotten even better recently. The newest additions to the Netflix library come from places like Hasbro, Disney Jr., and Cartoon Network! My kids are loving being able to watch shows like Jake and the Neverland Pirates and movies like The Aristocats whenever they want. Their absolute favorites? For my Tinker Bell-obsessed daughter, it’s Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue. I’ve seen it so many times now that I’m starting to speak in Lizzy’s accent. For my son, it’s Pingu. I can’t blame him. That little penguin is quite a character.
We love our Netflix, and I anticipate being a subscriber for a very long time. It’s so worth it to have such a wide selection of programming that you can trust right at your fingertips. Streaming from anywhere, anytime is the best! It’s been a lifesaver when we’re out doing things like waiting way too long at the doctor’s office. It’s also just a lot of fun!
What are you watching on TV with your family? Netflix has family favorites from Disney, Disney Jr., Hasbro, Cartoon Network, and Dreamworks that are available to stream anytime, anywhere.
And streaming is easier than you think! Download the free app on your iPad, click on the Netflix app on any gaming device, go to the website on your computer – and you’re in business. Check it out here!

We’re diehard Netflixers, too! No chance of us ever going to over-priced cable (besides, I LOVE that there are no toy commercials or anything – it makes it much easier to go to the store when the kiddos aren’t whining about what they saw on TV!!)

My little girl really loves watching NEtflix -Tinkerbell in particular. She’s even mastered getting to her shows on the ipad and we’ve only had it 2 weeks and she’s 2 1/2. Lol.
