Family Games from Jax Make Great Gifts! + Giveaway
Buying Christmas gifts is a lot of fun for me. I really enjoy gift-giving and seeing the smile on someone’s face when they’ve unwrapped a gift they love. One thing I don’t love is trying to figure out stocking stuffers. I know, it should be easy, right? For some reason I just can’t always find the right thing. I don’t want to put too much in the stockings, but I also don’t want to do too little. Sweet treats and mini things are great, but I always want something just a little “more” without going overboard. And guess what? This year I’ve got it down to a science: games by JAX!
JAX Games has a big selection of fun and educational games for families, and I want to share a few of their most popular selections:
This is a fun and fast-paced game of numbers, and it’s a great way for kids to improve their adding and subtracting skills. The purpose of the game is to be the last player standing (players are eliminated when they lose all their chips). As they take turns, players will add cards to a communal pile, but the sum of those cards can’t exceed the Tip Top number (selected by the card dealer). You can see how great this can be for boosting math skills!
This is a card version of the classic game we all know! Rather than using their hands, players will use cards to see who can trump the others. Players will receive 5 cards, and for each round they will lay down one card (a “rock,” “paper,” or “scissors”). Whoever wins the round will collect the cards from that round, and when the deck is empty, the player with the most cards wins.
This is a strategy game that also boosts math skills. You have both dice and numbered chips in this one, and the chips will lie on a score card. A player will roll the dice, and then remove chips to add up to the total roll. I know that sounds complicated, but here’s an easy example: if you roll an 8, you need to collect chips totaling the number 8. You can do this with an 8 chip, or you can grab a 5 and a 3 chip, or a 1 and a 7. The player with the lowest point total wins this one.
This game is a bit larger in size, as it includes a shaker cup. Players in this game will be creating “doodles” with rolls of the dice. Each card in the stack has a different doodle, and each die does, too. If you roll something that matches a doodle on a card, you take the card, but watch out – players can block an opponent’s turn. The ultimate goal is to be the first player to collect one card of each color.
All of these games are so fun, and they’re easy for kids. Over and Out, The Game of Chips, and Rock, Paper, Scissors would all make excellent stocking stuffers, and the larger-sized Doodle Dice game would be perfect for an under-the-tree gift. Families can enjoy playing them anytime, and they’re especially great to take on vacations and to family parties. As I mentioned before, JAX has a full lineup of fun games for families, which you can check out at JaxGames.com. Make sure to look for JAX games at independent toy stores near you!
