Distinctive Gourmet Gifts from Taste Trunk
This post is brought to you by Taste Trunk. All opinions are 100% my own.
Do you like to cook? Do you like trying out interesting gourmet ingredients? Do you like surprises?
If you said yes, yes yes!, then you absolutely must check out Taste Trunk.
By now, I’m sure you’ve heard about (and maybe even purchased) monthly subscription boxes, and we’ve even featured some at Game On Mom in the past. What started as a niche catering to people who like beauty products has exploded into a really cool concept that can satisfy almost anyone, with product boxes ranging from makeup to pet supplies to, you guessed it, gourmet food items! Taste Trunk has a cool feature that many subscription companies don’t: you can choose one-time boxes. If you want to subscribe to monthly boxes, you can get a great discount, but if you just want to try one box or if you’re looking for a nice gift for someone, you can order a box and go on your merry way. I love that!
When I got my Taste Trunk in the mail, I was shocked to see how big and heavy it was. I knew that meant I had some exciting goodies waiting for me, but I was still surprised at what I found.
First, let me just rave about Taste Trunk’s packaging. How pretty is this? The box itself is made to look like a trunk, and when you open it up, it’s so tastefully packaged – perfect for the gourmet treats underneath the wrapping! A satin bow holds tissue paper in place, along with a little paper pouch that holds information cards (more about those in a minute). And when you get to the bottom of those: look at that! So much yummy stuff. Everything is held in place and protected, so there’s no worry about the glass bottles being damaged. Also, and this is just me, I’m a sucker for packaging where everything has its own special place. I love that the box is put together in such an organized and safe way, but doesn’t sacrifice artful packaging.
Now for the goodies. My box included:
Lillie’s Q Ivory Barbeque Sauce
1849 Brand Tri-Tip Meat Marinade
Willamette Valley Mustards Jalapeño y Vino Mustard
Two Snooty Chefs Hungarian Ragôut
San Francisco Salt Company Black Hawaiian Lava Salt
Okay, wow. Seriously. I was so excited about every single item, and you know what’s even better? These are all full-sized products, not small samples!
Earlier I mentioned a pack of product information cards. I love that they include them, because they share so much. If you’re like me, you enjoy trying unique ingredients, but you may not be sure exactly how to use them without some coaching. These cards include details about the product (including it’s place of origin), and it also gives tips about using the item. Thank you for that! It’s almost like walking into a gourmet cooking shop, having someone hand you the best of the best items, and sitting down to tell you all about them and how you can use them.
As for Taste Trunk options, there are plenty! My box was the Savory Gourmet version, though I do believe they’ve changed the mustard option on that one. They have plenty of other trunk themes, though, including Sweet Tooth, BBQ, Healthy Chef, and more. And if none of those quite work for you, the best part is you can create your own trunk from scratch! You can choose from literally hundreds of handpicked gourmet items to make your trunk exactly what you want it to be (which is especially perfect if you’re getting the trunk as a gift for someone). Categories of products include Salt & Seasoning, Oils & Vinegars, Chocolate & Confections, Jams & Honey, Coffee & Tea….and the list goes on.
If you like to experiment with gourmet food products, or if you’re looking for a gift for someone who does (Father’s Day, anyone?), you definitely have to check out Taste Trunk. As I mentioned before, you can simply purchase one box and be done, or you can purchase a subscription and get something yummy in the mail every month. To learn more about their options, check out Taste Trunk.com. You can also stay up to date on their Twitter and Facebook pages.
Right now, you can use code Use FD25 to get 25% Off Father’s Day Gourmet Food Trunks. Hurry–offer expires 6/21!

I definitely like that you can buy just 1 box and then say goodbye without a lot of hoopla! I also love that you can pick out what you want in the trunk–especially nice if you are purchasing as a gift.
