I love interactive toys that inspire my kids’ imaginations to run wild, especially those that include building and creating from the ground up, so to speak. It’s always so fun for them to create something of their own design from scratch. And since it’s 2015 and toys are pretty amazing these days, kids aren’t stuck with basic building blocks.
Magformers toys are magnetic construction sets that help you create pretty much anything you can think of. They’re bright and colorful, sturdy, and best of all, they’re intelligent. How so? Magformers are created to help kids learn about and enjoy STEAM subjects. We’ve talked about STEM here before, but Magformers takes it one step further: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.
Science: Magformers will improve your child’s scientific thinking capabilities by creating a variety of models using the principle of magnetism.
Technology: Magformers will foster imagination growth as children use the geometric shapes to create 2D planar figures and 3D models.
Engineering: Magformers will help kids develop modeling skills as they create 3D configurations.
Art: Magformers give kids a chance to design and create works of art straight out of their vivid imaginations, promoting creative thinking.
Math: Magformers encourages and strengthens mathematical thinking as kids combine and connect blocks to understand spatial concepts and patterns.
In other words, they’re pretty great. For example, check out the airplane my kids and I built using the Rainbow 40-piece Solid Clear Set:
We came up with an idea, talked about the design and aesthetics, looked at different ways to combine our parts to get what we wanted, and engaged in a lot of fun discussion that really stretched my kids’ imaginations and had them thinking about building in ways they hadn’t before.
We also built a castle:
There are several different ways that you can play with Magformers: they can be combined, folded, rolled, transformed, and walled, which means your kids can make something totally flat, or they can expand upon that and transform the object to something 3D. There are plenty of ways to customize your builds! And since they pieces are magnetic, it really adds a new level of customization to your projects. You also don’t have to worry about an accidental bump knocking apart your structure.
These toys would be a fantastic holiday gift set for children aged 3+. I think your kids would love Magformers as much as mine do, so I’m excited to offer you a chance to win your own Magformers Rainbow 40-Piece Solid Clear Set, just like the one we have! Make sure to enter the contest below before you leave, and check out the Magformers.com to learn more about all their fun sets and kits. You can also follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Giveaway is open to US residents who are 18 and older. Ends 12/18/15. Good luck!
