Choose Energy Helps You Save Money on Your Electric Bill
This post is brought to you by ChooseEnergy.com.
It’s the holiday season, and I know a lot of you (myself included) are surfing the Internet looking for bargains and ways to save a little money right now. You’re probably looking at tons of store sales, coupons, and promo codes, and there are plenty to sort through. But I bet you never thought that you could save big by shopping for your energy provider, and it’s much easier than you think!
If you live in one of the states listed below, head over to ChooseEnergy.com to have a look at options available to you. It’s available for the following locations:
- Connecticut
- Illinois
- Maryland
- New Jersey
- New York
- Ohio
- Pennsylvania
- Texas
On the ChooseEnergy.com website, just type in your zip code and find an energy solution that fits your budget from the best suppliers out there. You can save up to 25% just by switching your energy provider. And ChooseEnergy.com makes it super easy: they’ll make the switch for you!
I gave ChooseEnergy.com a quick spin and was really surprised at what I found.
When you enter your zip code, you’ll be taken to a page that lists their best plans for your area.
You can click the “See all electricity plans in your area” link at the bottom for a full list of options.
As you can see from the chart, I have the option to choose a plan priced at 8.99¢ per kWh. This could mean big savings for me every month, because right now we’re paying 10.79¢ per kWh. The average electricity consumption for a U.S. residential utility customer in 2011 was 940 kWh per month (source). At my current rate, that would be $101.43. With a switch to the lower plan, that would drop to $84.51. That’s a savings of almost $17 a month, or $203 a year! I could certainly use an extra $200 for the holidays, how about you? Have I got your attention yet? 🙂
It takes fewer than 10 minutes to find solutions that fit your needs, so make a little time to fit ChooseEnergy.com into your shopping this year, and you might just save more than you thought possible!

Unfortunately I live in an area where monopolies are still intact for most services. I can see where this would be a great benefit to those who do not live in such an area.
I don’t think we have anything like this here in Canada, I’ll have to look around

I am going to look into this- we are in NYS and I just need to look and see what we are paying per kWh. Ours is for our electricity, which where we live is more expensive than when we lived downtown. We heat with wood so we are lucky on that side. Great information and I am going to save your link.

Wish they were here in the South. We’re buying our first home and would like to make it as energy efficient as possible.

It is always smart to look for ways to save on energy!
My wife thinks this would be a great way to save money on our electric bill.
Thanks for all the info, our rates for everything have gone up so much in the past few months.
I love this! I think ChooseEnergy.com is a great way to be able to find the best company and rates! Im glad Maryland is on the list! Tha
The state I live in it isn’t available but I wish they were.I would use it to find a cheaper alternative. My light bill is outrageous! I try every thing to keep the bill down lower. We don’t even put lights on our Christmas tree because electricity is so high here in Maine.
They need some energy help in Florida!
It is always smart to look for ways to save on energy and money thanks
Not in our area but we try to save by installing high efficiency appliances
This sounds great I wish we had options we have one supplier for our whole state of Vermont
Too bad we don’t have a choice in our state. It would be nice to shop for savings.
I wish we lived in one of these states, we live in Wisconsin. We use a ton of heat in the winter, but we try and save energy by turning down the heat to 55 when we leave!
That is a great resource! Thanks!
I sure do wish this pertained Florida! But after reading this post, I’m going to do some research and see what’s available here in my state!
