The Best School FUNdraisers Happen at Chuck E. Cheese’s!
When it comes to school, youth scouts, youth sports teams, or any other organization for kids, there’s at least one time of the year when their age or grade year doesn’t matter: fundraising time. We’ve all been there: selling donuts, candy bars, cookies, tins of Christmas snacks, flowers, magazines…well, I don’t need to tell you. You’ve probably already sold it, bought it, or both, right?
You can tell from the above statement that traditional fundraisers don’t excite me much, so I was thrilled to partner with Chuck E. Cheese’s to turn fundraising into FUNdraising!
It really couldn’t be easier to set up a Chuck E. Cheese’s fundraiser opportunity for your group; in fact, I recently did just that, and I want to show you how easily it’s done.
First, a little information about the program:
Chuck E. Cheese’s isn’t new to fundraising. To date, they’ve donated nearly 13 million dollars to schools and non-profits through their fundraising events. When you host a fundraising night at Chuck E. Cheese’s, 15% of all sales from participating families, teachers, and the community is donated back to the school (sales include food, merchandise, and tokens).
When I said it was easy, I meant it: Chuck E. Cheese’s really takes the wheel and makes the process simple. They prepare packages for every participating school 21 days before their event. Packages include:
- Token sticker for each child enrolled (packages come with 104 stickers)
- 2 fundraising posters
- 1 black and white flyer with coupons (front in English, back in Spanish)
Schools can also arrange for Chuck E. himself to visit their campus in person on the day of the fundraiser. Talk about getting kids excited! Chuck E. can stand by the bus line to tell the kids goodbye as they leave for home, while reminding them and their parents of the event. Chuck E. is also happy to take part in meet and greet events or small assemblies with younger grades.
Also, teachers will receive a free meal and a trip in the Ticket Blaster just by showing their school ID (this will get teachers an individual one-topping pizza or all-you-can-eat salad bar and a soft drink).
Now, as for my personal experience:
This was so convenient and easy to set up. I simply submitted my fundraising request online with a quick and easy form. Then Chuck E. Cheese’s called me to verify my information and sent all promotional materials and instructions directly to the school. The promotional flyers feature coupons, and the stickers for students are worth 10 free tokens.
Chuck E. came to our school on the day of the event and stood outside as the kids were leaving school for the day. He gave them all high fives, which they absolutely loved! It really motivated them and got them very excited about the night’s event.
The event itself is just like any other night at Chuck E. Cheese’s: good food, good company, and good fun! Their pizza is really yummy (and I consider myself an expert on pizza). We actually had the new spaghetti and meatballs pizza, which was a real treat. The kids had a blast playing all the games, and it was even more fun for them because they were doing it with all their school friends.
Together, my kids earned 614 tickets from playing the games, and they’ve decided to save them up for a big prize. I’m so proud.
Our school’s Chuck E. Cheese’s fundraiser was a huge success, and I think you would love it, too! The next time your school or organization is ready to host a fundraising event, I hope you’ll consider letting Chuck E. host a super fun event for you. It’s a guaranteed fun night that benefits and gives back to your school while the kids have a blast and you eat some delicious pizza. That’s a win any way you look at it!
