Beatrix Girls Review & Giveaway
I was a pretty stereotypical little girl. I loved Barbies, I loved Jem, I loved dolls of pretty much any kind. It looks like my daughter might be the same way, so naturally she was really excited when we learned about a fun new line of dolls.
The Beatrix Girls are a “girl band”, four collectible dolls with a twist: they’re driven by real-life original music. The Beatrix Girls have fun, catchy pop music that you can purchase on iTunes and Amazon, with lyrics that teach the values of empowerment, friendship, hard work, and determination. They also have their very own web cartoon series. The dolls were created by Sherry Gunther Shugerman, an Emmy Award winning producer and studio executive with two decades of experience producing hits like The Simpsons and Rugrats.
Each Beatrix girl has her own distinct personality and style. Whether it’s Lark, Ainsley, Brayden, or Chantal, there’s sure to be one your child will identify with. They are definitely not just a pretty face; the girls are set to empower and inspire through their music, fashion, and goal-oriented personalities.
I was provided a complimentary Beatrix Girl for my daughter to play with, and we were sent Ainsley, the drummer of the band.
Ainsley is from Georgia and her personality is spunky and charming. Ainsley is described as sweet and quiet until she sits down at her drum kit, where she becomes the bands strong, vivacious drummer. She incorporates a little of the “Old Southern” style in her wardrobe with hats, corsets, and gloves, but she blends those classic pieces into a totally modern style.
The Beatrix Girls are made differently from other dolls like Barbies. They have larger heads and mostly non-bendable parts. (Just a word of caution: their legs do look bendable, but they definitely are not).
So far my daughter has really enjoyed playing with Ainsley. I love that it’s making her a little more interested in learning about musical instruments and I don’t have to worry about the lyrics to the Beatrix Girls songs because they’re specifically written for girls aged 5-9.
To learn more about the other Beatrix Girls, visit their website (and make sure to look at their web cartoon while you’re there!). You can also follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. If you want to get your own Beatrix Girl dolls, they are available now at Toys R Us, Walmart, Amazon, and select Justice stores. And don’t forget their music is available for purchase on iTunes and Amazon too!

I think my daughter would like Beatrix Girl Lark the most
I would pick Brayden, my daughter would love her.
My daughter has been asking for Brayden. She thinks Brayden is the cool hip one. Who am I to argue. My daughter has been playing the clarinet in school this year. She is actually using my old clarinet from when I was in school. I hope she has as much fun with it as I had way back when.
I think I’d pick Lark.
