Back to School with BIC, Fight for Your Write, & a Giveaway
The summer is flying by so fast, isn’t it? It won’t be long before the kids and teens are headed back to school, which means you’ll be at the store buying school supplies any day now. When you do, make sure to check out the selection from Bic, because they have some really cool products for students of all ages!
BIC sent me a sampling of some of their new items, as well as the classics, and it was almost like Christmas morning when I opened that box. I have an unhealthy love of school supplies, and I’ve long since given up denying it.
Let’s take a look at what I’ve been playing with!
I’m a sucker for bright colors, so I was automatically sold on the pencils. I’m also a sucker for any pen that writes well and looks cute at the same time. And don’t even get me started on how much I love items that multi-task. As you can see from the picture above, BIC has all of my requirements covered, so I couldn’t be happier with this selection. Here’s what I have:
1. Pencils
See what I mean by bright colors? These are so fun! BIC’s classic mechanical pencil has been given a fun upgrade with bright patterns with the Xtra-Craze line, and the #2 wooden pencil is basic yellow no more as these Xtra-Fun line pencils have replaced the standard. They’re a variety of colors inside and out, and both the mechanical and wooden versions satisfy #2 requirements.
2. Pens
I absolutely love the Atlantis Ultra Comfort pen. I am super picky when it comes to pens, and I only use those that write perfectly smoothly every time. When they’re comfortable and cute to boot, I’m all in. This one comes in a variety of color options, but I’m quite happy with my pink one. The grip is ridiculously soft, by the way, so all that note-taking won’t cause finger distress. And those silver and black pens you see there? Those are the Cristal Stylus + Pen. I was so happy when I saw these! I’m always in need of a stylus for one reason or another, but I hate carrying an extra item in my pack. These little multi-taskers are perfect: a smooth-writing pen on one end, and a stylus on the other.
3. Highlighters
I’m probably most excited about these Brite Liners. I am a highlighting maniac. When I was in school, I would end up with books and notes containing more yellow than not. I also still highlight like crazy today, so I’m always happy to find a good one. These are great – solid yellow lines that don’t bleed through the paper, offering the perfect amount of bright color. But guess what? You see that little notch in my heart up there? These highlighters…are erasable. Erasable. Guys. I cannot express in words how excited I am about this. Like I said, when I highlight, I tend to get a little out of control. Now I can go back and erase when I’ve covered too much. I can also tidy up my edges when I get a little haphazard with my highlighting. These compensate for so many of my highlighting flaws. I’m amazed and will treasure these, seriously.
From elementary school to high school, kids need good supplies. And who am I kidding, adults do, too. Thankfully, we have BIC to give us the best of the best. When you hit the stores, make sure to look for that yellow Bic logo!
There’s another thing I really love about BIC: their Fight for Your Write initiative. BIC is on a mission to save the important skill of handwriting. Writing by hand is an essential communication tool, and I am in support of anything aimed at preserving it. Go to www.BICFightForYourWrite.com to take the pledge and join the crusade. Through their partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, BIC will donate a pen or pencil to students in need for each signature collected.
We aren’t done yet! BIC is also offering Game On Mom readers a chance to win not one, but TWO of the product packages featured here. That means two each of:
- BIC® Xtra-Fun pencil (the only #2 pencil with two-toned color barrels)
- BIC® Xtra-Craze™ Mechanical Pencil
- BIC® Brite Liner® Erasable Highlighter
- BIC® Cristal® Stylus
- BIC Atlantis® Ultra Comfort pen

I commend the Fight for the Write campaign. i hate to see so many schools taking handwriting out of the curriculum. Everyone needs to learn to write.
I think handwriting is an important skill that I would hate to be lost.
I totally agree with the Fight For The Write Campaign, sadly even the grade schools in my town have pretty much abandoned the skill of handwriting,My kids went to the grade school I learned hand writing in and now my grown son has terrible, illegible writing,I call chicken scratch,it’s almost as if he learned that weird writing that doctors write prescriptions with, only my son isn’t a doctor and nobody knows what he’s writing,so he tries to print notes or letters on the computer.
I love it and wish everyone would join.
I would love to try the BIC Ultra Fine Permanent Markers.
The fight for your write campaign is great. Handwriting is an important part of life and the very act itself helps us learn.
I love to try the bic high litters.
I think this campaign is great. I do not want to see the demise of handwriting. Your penmanship is unique to you and should be celebrated.

I totally agree with Bic’s Fight for Your Write campaign! Handwriting is in itself a mode of personal expression that should not be lost in the technology revolution!
i like the campaign
I love the campaign. Getting kids to write more helps with spelling, grammar, and improving their vocabulary not to mention handwriting skills!
I would love to try the Cristal Gel Pens (all 4 colors).
I appreciate the campaign and I cannot believe my kids will not be learning handwriting in school.
I love their campaign!! I hope they give tons of pens and pencils to those who would otherwise not be able to have them!! I hope it encourage those to write and so amazing in school!! I loved having fresh new materials to use!! Yay BIC!
It is very important that handwriting continues on in school. It will be used in life instead of just touchscreen or typing. Handwriting is a key skill and if the kids no longer have it, then as they are older or later in life, just to write a grocery list or write a note or letter would be difficult and also of no importance. And I would try the Bic Crystal Gel Ink Pen!!
I think handwriting is an essential tool students must learn. It made me sad to learn that the art of handwriting was dying, but I’m glad Bic is fighting to bring it back!
I like their shaped notes. They always come in handy!
I think the campaign is absolutely wonderful.
But, I’d also love to try one of their fountain pens — the x-pen one. They look beautiful and fun to write with, too!
I would love to have Turn & Up fountain pen. That is so cool that it’s retractable.
Handwriting is definitely important, great campaign!
I think Fight for Your Write is a really cute and catchy slogan and I like the idea behind it, that writing is beneficial. I’ve always loved pens and pencils and I love to write so it’s definitely up my alley. 🙂
I do agree with their Back to Write campaign. I also like their EXACT LINER® correcting tape/pen because it has no dry time and can be used instantly 🙂
I am loving this campaign! I hate that they aren’t teaching cursive handwriting in schools here anymore! I LOVED learning how to write cursive!
I’d like to try the BIC grip roller pen.
I think BIC is doing an amazing thing by supply pens and pencils to kids in need.
I would like the Bic Easy Clic
I am very much in favor of Bic’s Fight for Your Write campaign. Just looking at it logically how will the kids who don’t learn it ever actually sign their name on a contract or even when they use a credit card. Also, those who don’t know how to write or read cursive may look at any older historical document or even a love letter written as recently as the last 50 years or sooner as if it’s in a foreign language. I honestly think it’s sad.
I love my bic product and you got to have a highlighter for everything..
I’m a pen fanatic! The x pen looks pretty nice.

I love that Bic is supporting to retain handwriting. My kids’ schools barely teach it anymore since so much of the instruction is done on computer or their iPads.

I love it! There are so many places that don’t even teach handwriting anymore.
I use the lighters, pens and white out. I do the newspaper crossword puzzles daily, in ink. By the weekend they’re tough. That’s where the white out comes in.
Ilove all thi bic products i always used them in school and i got a bic atlantis its great
With many changes, handwriting is something we NEED to keep going. I had taken the pledge a few days ago and love what they are doing. Of course, Bic has products we buy all year long and my kids have a lot of them now to start school with this year

I like the PENCIL (BIC MATIC)- mechanical pencils. Thank you
I love this campaign. So many children today do not have the handwriting skills that we developed as children ourselves. I think technology is great but I like the idea of being able to write well too.
I am a total stationary junkie! 🙂 I was shocked when I learned that cursive writing had been removed from my children’s curriculum! I always ask how will they sign they name? The response is that they will not need to because everything will be electronic. Ok, then how will they read the journals I have kept for each of them for their graduation day… Ugh!
For my own job, I would love to try the TRIUMPH 537.R
Refillable roller, smooth writing pen
I would like to try the Exact Liner
I think the campaign is awesome! Great message!
