Acer Aspire 5: A Powerful Laptop at an Unbeatable Price
There is one thing I do like about the closing of a summer season, though. I absolutely love back to school shopping. Stick me in the middle of a school supplies aisle at the store, and I am giddy, even if the row is jam packed with cranky kids and tired parents. Fresh pens and pencils, the smell of a new notebook, the feeling of crisp, untouched paper…I loved it as a young student, and I still love it as an adult. The major difference is that now I also get to enjoy shopping for new electronics that didn’t exist when I was a kid.
However, we all know that those electronics are often expensive and cost-prohibitive, so I’m always excited to be able to share great bargains on devices your family may need. I recently received a new laptop from Acer (Aspire 5 A515-43-R19L) to review for you, and it’s an impressive computer at a fantastic price.
The Acer Aspire 5 is a slim 15.6” laptop that goes above and beyond. This powerful laptop is thin and weighs less than 4 pounds, so it’s lightweight enough to easily tote around in a backpack (or carry around the house for homework). It’s made with an aluminium top cover that provides a sleek look and stylish protection, and it has an amazing battery that provides all-day power (it has up to 7.5 hours of battery life, which means your kids could charge it overnight and not have to worry about packing a power cable in their backpack). The laptop features a 15.6” full HD display, has 4GB of memory and a 128GB SSD drive (so there’s plenty of storage space available for all your files and programs), and it also has an array of ports for USB, HDMI, headphones, speakers, and ethernet connections. Additionally, it offers an AMD Ryzen 3 processor and Radeon Vega 3 card, so the graphics are outstanding and desktop-level quality.
We’ve been using this laptop for just about everything, and I’m hooked on it. This is the first laptop we’ve had that was feels as powerful as a desktop without feeling as heavy as a desktop. It’s so lightweight that I never feel like I’m lugging something unwieldy around the house, so its portability is a huge bonus. I hardly notice it when I’m carrying it in my backpack, and since it has such great battery life, I sometimes don’t even bother taking the charging cable.
It easily runs all of our programs, and the top-notch graphics make streaming movies and television shows even more enjoyable. I have also downloaded a few games, and I’ve been very pleasantly surprised at how well it runs them. Homework? Yeah, the Aspire 5 can handle that with one arm tied behind its back. Whether you need a laptop for work, school, leisure, or all of the above, I know the Acer Aspire 5 will fit all your needs and then some.
The Aspire 5 has an MSRP of $349.99, but it’s currently on sale at Amazon for only $309.99. I’ve priced a lot of laptops, and it really is a great bargain for the amount of power you get with this machine. To learn more and check out the tech specs, visit Acer.com. Don’t forget to take advantage of the sale price at Amazon.com before it’s too late!
***Update: I’d just like to let you know that about a week after the warranty on this machine expired, it suddenly stopped charging. And customer service? Good luck with that. I can’t even confirm that they have any. I did like this laptop for the price, but now I can’t recommend the brand, as I don’t feel they value their customers.

My son is looking for a good laptop to purchase. He is currently employed as a software engineer but he wants to do some side hustles too (graphics design, website building, coding, etc.). He needs a laptop that would not crash when he works on his projects. I think Acer is a good brand to consider.
My laptop is lighter than my previous laptop but still isn’t light enough. I think the Acer Aspire would suit my needs a bit better as far as working on the go.
My husband is looking for a new laptop so I’m
For sure passing this on to him!
Looks like a great laptop for students! I love the long battery life and the fact that it weighs less than four pounds!
This looks really nice! I like that it’s lightweight and doesn’t look bulky
I have had Aspire computers before. They are nice and reliable. Thank you for the review.
This looks like a really good laptop and for a great price. I like the light weight and the battery life.

They have real good products at a great price.
Is it slow? With only 4GB of memory I find Windows is slow – but you didn’t indicate (I assumed it’s) running Windows
Yes, it’s running Windows 10. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it’s really not slow at all.
I think I can beat the price. But hm I can use another powerful laptop (you can never have too many screens).

It only costs $310? That is such a good price. Thanks for the review.
These little Acers really are fast machines. We’ve been eyeing one for my elementary student.
