A Wrinkle in Time Now in Theaters + Activity Sheets!
A Wrinkle in Time is out in theaters now, and we’ve got some awesome activity sheets to help get you in the spirit of occasion!
Before we get to the activities, let’s talk a little about the movie. If you read the book as a child, then you have a pretty good idea what the movie A Wrinkle in Time is all about. For those of you who will be experiencing the story for the first time, I’ll give you a quick summary.
Meg Murry is a typical middle school student struggling with issues of self-worth who just wants to fit in. The daughter of two world-renowned physicists, she is intelligent and uniquely gifted, as is her younger brother, Charles Wallace, but Meg has yet to realize it for herself. Complicating matters is the mysterious disappearance of her father four years ago, which has left Meg devastated and her mother heartbroken, and while friends and faculty at school urge her to move on, Meg knows he is still alive. Before he vanished, Mr. Murry was tracking events in the cosmos when he discovered tessering, a wrinkling of time and space through which intergalactic travel is possible, but it is still an unproven theory, and one the scientific community regards with much skepticism.
One night, Charles Wallace, Meg and a fellow classmate, Calvin, meet three otherworldly visitors who have traveled to Earth with an important message for Meg: Her father’s discovery is, in fact, an extraordinary accomplishment, but a darkness has infiltrated the universe and he is now in grave danger. Together they set off in search of Mr. Murry with Mrs. Which, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Whatsit as their guides, tessering to worlds beyond their imagination and confronting the powerful, evil energy face-to-face. But in order to save her father, Meg must first overcome her own flaws and insecurities and harness the strength necessary to defeat the darkness.

It looks like a great movie! I have never read the book though. I think I may read the book first. I usually like to read then watch. I feel like the books are usually better but we shall see!

I’ve never heard about this. As with most book inspired movies, I’d love to read the book first. However, I’m making an exception this time. Pretty sure my 4 kids will like this movie. It’s been a while since we actually went to a movie theater because their choice is either live musicals or netflix.
This looks like a great movie. Could be worth the trip to the theatre with the girls. They really want to see this.
Such fun activities! I really want to see this. I may have to do a solo movie date!
I look forward to seeing this movie! I loved the book as a young girl — I remember reading it in elementary school. The printables look fun too — I remember making fortune tellers similar to that as a girl!

Thank you for the fun activity sheets! My teen and I just read the book together and then we went and saw the movie last weekend with our family.

I was obsessed with those “cootie catchers” in my schoolyard days! And now my nephew can get a taste haha. Thanks for the activites. Really surprised there wasn’t as much interest in this movie as I thought there would be. Hopefully it’ll be a slow draw. Thanks again!
I read this book when I was younger. I so can’t wait to see the movie, and I hope they follow the story in the book. I loved it and can only hope the movie is just as good.
