Breakout Dispatch: The Game that Makes You Part of the Story
I’ve mentioned before that my friends and I love incorporating fun games into our weekend hangouts, and I’m so excited to tell you about our new favorite.
I bet you’ve heard of Breakout Rooms, as they’re popping up everywhere. What you might not know, however, is that Breakout also makes a game you can play at home, and it’s SO much fun. It’s called Dispatch, and my friends and I are in love with it.
The purpose of the Dispatch game is to solve a mystery. Rather than buying a single game and opening the box to find everything you need, this one is special and different – you actually sign up for Dispatch, and you’ll get a box full of mysterious items every month to help you solve the case. They all center on the same storyline, but every month you get new clues to help you out and get you closer to solving the mystery.
When we opened our first box, we really had no idea what to expect. The primary item is a journal with all kinds of entries that get you familiar with the “crime.” It’s your starting point and will lead you to the places you need to go. That’s not all, though. Because I know you would love to play this game, I don’t want to spoil it by giving away the contents, but just know that you’ll spend time rifling through papers, looking up things on the internet, laying out clues on your table, and just acting like a detective in general.
This game could be played by one person, but it would be a challenge. I think the real joy comes from playing with a group. We quickly fell into a routine and each person sort of took over certain duties as we worked. One person would work on computer clues, one person would do something with paper, one person read journal entries out loud while everyone shuffled through their clues and worked toward solving the crime.
We’re about to get started on our third box of items, and I personally am so excited to get started I can’t stand it! At a certain point in the month, my friends start asking if the latest Dispatch box has arrived, so they’re definitely excited, too. This game has a truly unique concept, and I know the payoff will feel amazing. Working together as a team to solve a crime over the course of several months is a great bonding experience, and a fun way for every teammate to put their individual strengths to use. I may not be great with logic and riddles, but I can read aloud with flair and do computer research like it’s nobody’s business.
I really hope you’ll take some time to explore the Dispatch website to learn more about what the game is and how it works. If you want to jump on board, you can sign up directly at the Dispatch site. Good luck to you, fellow detectives!

I have read reviews about the break out rooms but as you stayed I did not know you can do this at home. Dispatch does sound like fun and memory making indeed.
This sounds like a marvelous game. I’m wondering if I can get other residents of our senior citizens mobile home park interested.
This sounds like so much fun!
Sounds like something we would enjoy
I think my granddaughter would love to be with me on this. Thank you.
This sounds like a good New Years game. The whole family gets together. At least the kids would enjoy it!
