Master Debaters Smosh Edition Brings a Judge, Jury, and Plenty of Laughs to Game Night
Do you ever struggle to find things to do with friends? I’m not old by any means, but I’m at that age where I really don’t love going out on weekend nights. It used to be fun, when I was younger and could stay out late and wake up early with little consequence, but now I find that I would rather spend a fun evening in with friends than fight the weekend crowds. That said, those nights in can get a little boring if you don’t have something (besides wine, of course) to occupy the hours, so my friends and I sometimes play games to entertain ourselves. We have quite a few favorites, but we always look for the ones that will make us laugh (and often get a little loud).
We’re always on the lookout for new games that will appeal to a wide variety of players, and I’m really excited about a new one we’ve recently tried. Master Debaters – Smosh Edition is one of the games we love to play. (If you’re not familiar with Smosh, you should check them out. They’re one of the top comedy YouTube channels and websites, and they have some hilarious content). As the name indicates, this is a game of debates and opinions – we all have them, so why not have fun sharing them?
How does it work? Two players are debaters, one is the judge, and the rest are the jury. A card is chosen and roles are assigned, and a chip is flipped to determine which side of an argument the debater will have to assume. What kinds of arguments? Silly ones. Is a spork more spoon or fork? Are Cheetos a potato chip? Should leggings be worn as pants?
Let me tell you, guys. You may find that while you’ve never held a strong opinion about sporks, suddenly your primary goal in life is to prove that they are, in fact, more spoon.
Players have a set number of seconds to argue their points without interruption, and then have an open debate where pretty much anything goes, including friendly banter. The jury then votes for a winner, but even that doesn’t guarantee a win – the judge can overturn their decision.
The game comes with everything you need, including a countdown timer. And with 266 debate topic cards, you definitely won’t run out of options.
Master Debaters – Smosh Edition can be purchased at Target (both in-store and online) and from some third-party sellers on Amazon. If you’re looking for a fun party game to add to your collection, I definitely recommend giving this one a try! To learn more about the game, have a look at the Smosh website. You can also watch the Smosh crew play the game on YouTube – see for yourself how fun the game is, and I promise you’ll be interested!

I am not usually one who plays board games but this one looks like a lot of fun for couples or a family. My son who has developed a love of politics and debating would love this and I will try and get it for us to play.
I have to get this! One of our favorite things to do when we throw parties is play games like this. They’re great for a good time.
This sounds like such a fun game, it seems like one my family would really enjoy playing yet I have never heard of them before.
This looks great for family game night. It sounds very engaging and entertaining.
This will be a fun game for when the grown kids are visiting. They usually bring their families and games do come out!
I have to get this for my eldest niece. She is in law school and I think this would give her a chance to practice how to debate (or defend) her point of view. She could play this game with her friends. Hopefully, in a few years, we will have another lawyer in the family! 🙂
Yay a fun family game. Families need to have device free nights and go back to fun game nights and play games like this.
I’ve been looking for new games to play with our kids. I’m gonna have to check this one out for the summer. Thanks for sharing.
