Doki Doki by Japan Crate Is a Box of Cuteness + Giveaway!
I’ve shared monthly subscription boxes with you in the past, and they remain one of my favorite things. It’s so fun to get a box full of surprises and goodies every month, and these days there truly is a subscription box for everyone. Makeup, food, jewelry, toys, pet supplies…you name it, and it’s out there somewhere.
I recently tried out two new monthly subscription boxes that make me so happy, I can’t wait to show you!
Japan Crate and Doki Doki Crate are fun monthly boxes that feature some of the best Japanese snack foods and toys on the market!
Japan Crate focuses on food, and I can’t tell you how much fun it was to go through and sample all these snacks I never would have found otherwise. I received the December crate, which included a ton (seriously, there were so many items) of Japanese snack foods and candy.
When I first opened the box, I was both thrilled and overwhelmed, because I had no idea what some of the items were. I don’t speak/read Japanese, so I was kind of clueless until I realized that the box came with a super handy brochure that explained everything for me! The box came with both sweet and savory items, and some of my favorites include:
- Umaibo Sticks: yummy sticks with the crunch of a churro, but with savory flavors like veggie salad, cheese, and pork
- Fujiya Lollipops: traditional lollipops with a terrific flavor – my favorite is green apple)
- Mixuumi-Chi-Ya Raw Spirit Black Bean & Soy Sauce Scones: these really look and “crunch” like crunchy Cheetos, but they have an amazing flavor of grilled corn, black beans, and soy sauce. They’re seriously delicious.
- Hia Shuwa Cola: these are little cola-flavored candies, and some of them actually fizz.
As you can see from the picture, that’s only a small sample of the snacks in Japan Crate, and I am certain that anyone who loves candy will love this box.
Next up is the Doki Doki Crate, which is a toy box from the makers of Japan Crate.
This box was an awesome mix of different kawaii toys and items, and anyone who is into Japanese anime and cartoons will love it. My favorite items were:
- Totoro Items: a cute desk calendar and a zipper pouch featuring the character Totoro from the film My Neighbor Totoro
- Charizard Pikachu: if your kids like Pokemon, they will love this necklace featuring Pikachu dressed up like Charizard
- Panda Sleep Mask: this is an adorable sleep mask that is probably geared toward kids, but I would be lying if I said I didn’t use it.
Both Japan Crate and Doki Doki Crate are perfect for anyone in your life who loves Japanese pop culture, no matter their age! To learn more and subscribe, hop over to JapanCrate.com. You can also follow them on Facebook and Twitter to stay up to date and get sneak peeks of the coming month’s boxes!
