I really, really love lunchboxes. As a child, my favorite thing to do every school year was pick out my new lunchbox, and apparently I never lost my love for that.
Alas, as a grown-up, it’s probably not the best idea to carry a cartoon lunchbox to work, though. Bummer! But that doesn’t mean I can’t have something cute (and practical).
ECOlunchbox offers a wide variety of fun items to store and carry your lunch, and they’re smart choices for those who strive to make healthy and environmentally conscious choices.
All ECOlunchbox products are free of plastic, vinyl, and even scarier things, like lead. Everything is washable and reusable. Their bento boxes and containers are all stainless steel, and their lunch bags are 100% cotton and machine washable. Some of them are even reversible and convert from sacks to backpacks!
I tried out a couple of ECOlunchbox products: the Furoshiki ECOsnacksack and the Solo Cube.
The Solo Cube is the perfect size for a sandwich on its own, but there is also room for a small amount of other food like berries, small veggies, or my daughter’s favorite organic Honeycrisp apples (she’s got expensive taste, that one).
The ECOlunchbox Solo Cube
- is plastic-free, lead-free, BPA-free, phthalate-free, and waste-free
- measures 5 1/4″ square and 1 7/8″ deep
- is dishwasher safe
- can be used to reheat food in a medium hot oven
- is made of high-quality, food-grade stainless steel 205, and will not retain stains, odors, or residues.
We use this for lunch on every school day. Sometimes it holds a sandwich, sometimes it holds snacks, but either way, I feel good about using a container that is reusable and doesn’t expose my children’s food to harmful chemicals.
The Fair Trade Furoshiki ECOsnacksack is a super cute fabric lunch sack. The Solo Cube fits perfectly inside it, or you can use it to transport snacks and water bottles.
The ECOsnacksack
- is plastic-free, BPA-free, and waste-free
- is fully lined and machine washable
- measures 7″ wide by 16″ tall
- is sewn from colorful fair trade textiles, handprinted by artisans using wooden blocks and wax batik techniques
- comes in a large variety of bright, fun colors
It’s such a fun and unique design, people are always asking us what it is and where did we find it. I like to use it for myself and throw in a bottle of water and a piece of fruit for when I’m out and about.
Products like these make life so much easier. Packing lunch for the kids (or yourself) can be a real chore, and it’s nice to have a supply of containers ready to go. They save time and help keep food separated – no more soggy sandwiches! They’ll also help you control portions and set aside snacks for different times of the day without wasting a bunch of throw-away plastic baggies and flimsy containers.
ECOlunchbox products are perfect for everyday lunches. Now that we’re all back to school and work after the holidays, consider taking these nifty containers back with you. Even if you don’t have a need to take lunch outside the home, these containers are great for storing leftovers and having perfectly portioned snacks on hand for you or the kids to grab in a hurry. There are plenty of uses for ECOlunchboxes, and you’re sure to find yourself using them frequently!
Visit ECOlunchbox to learn more about their products and how they can help you have a healthier, waste-free lunch. You can also find them in other places on the web: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram.
