doTERRA Intro to Essential Oils Kit Review & Giveaway
Essential oils have a ton of possible uses, and in my house you’ll often find them in my homemade cleaning products and spa treatments. I’ve been using essential oils for more than a few years now, but this is my first time trying the doTERRA brand. Appropriately, I’m starting with their Introductory Kit.
The doTERRA Introductory Kit has everything you need to immerse yourself in the world of essential oils. You get a booklet and audio CD to help you learn what these amazing oils are all about, including the many ways you can use them. Even better, they start you out with three of the most essential essential oils: 5 ml each of lavender, lemon, and peppermint. There are so many uses for these oils, and I’m going to share some of my favorites.
Lavender
- Trouble sleeping? Apply lavender oil to the soles of your feet or to your pillow for a more sound slumber.
- Combine with tea tree oil and apply to cuts and scrapes to promote healing.
- Do a lavender steam inhalation for help with sinus congestion.
Lemon
- It’s a spectacular gunk remover. Just a drop or two will get rid of gum or adhesive residue.
- Use it with olive oil for a furniture polish that you don’t have to be afraid of.
- Mix with coconut oil for a fingernail conditioning treatment.
Peppermint
- Add this with lemon to water for a refreshing mouth rinse.
- Add a drop to herbal tea to aid digestion.
- Use it in an exfoliating foot scrub.
Again, those are just a few suggestions for each. There is so much you can do with essential oils, especially when you start combining them. I’ve been very happy with the doTerra oils that I’ve been using the last few weeks. They’re therapeutic grade and guaranteed to be 100% pure and natural and free of synthetic compounds or contaminates. I am quite fond of the way the oils dispense from the bottle too. Most oils I’ve used either come with a dropper or don’t have any to dispense them at all and I have to come up with my own dropper. With doTERRA, you can dispense the drops you want directly from the bottle itself. Neat.
Expect to see more recipes/tutorials on using essential oils in the future. It’s been on my to-do list since forever ago; it’s just a matter of finding the time. You don’t have to wait for me though. If you’ve been curious about essential oils but haven’t been sure where or how to start, this is your chance to give it a try. One lucky reader is going to win a doTERRA Introductory Kit! Giveaway ends 7/27/13 and is open to US residents, 18+. Enter using the Rafflecopter below, and when you’re done entering here, visit Natural Health Giveaways for more chances to win! Good luck 🙂
