Netflix is All about Families this Summer
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Netflix.
My family really looks forward to summer and all of the outdoor fun it brings with it, but this year has been different. The weather has been out of control lately with most days being either very rainy or unbearably hot. Air-conditioned movie theaters tend to fill up on days like those, but have you tried taking a family of four to the movies lately? Going to the movies does sound like a fun way to entertain ourselves when the weather is too uncomfortable to deal with, but at more than $40 a trip (not counting food or drinks)…it hurts the pocketbook. At moments like these, we turn to Netflix.
You’ve heard me describe my love for Netflix before, and I’m back to do it again because it’s gotten even better with Netflix.com/Families. On their Family page, Netflix is featuring new categories to help you find movies and TV shows to make your summer more fun. If you haven’t joined Netflix yet, you can still head over to the Family page and check out their lists. My three favorite categories are Classics to Share with Your Kids, Get Ready for Preschool, and Quiet Time. Let’s take a look…
I’m a sentimental gal, and I love watching my old favorites with my kids, so the Classics category is especially appealing to me. Garfield is a frequent request from both my son and daughter, and I was a huge Garfield fan when I was little, so I don’t complain! With a 3 and 4 year old in the house, the Preschool category is very appropriate for us. I especially like Bo on the Go because it encourages them to be active on days when we’re stuck inside, and the kids can’t get enough of it. The Quiet Time category is how we discovered Frances, and wow…do my kids love Frances! It’s a very cute video that teaches valuable lessons while incorporating classical music. Yes, I’ll let my kids watch that.
Later this month, we’ll be traveling a few states away to visit some family, and I know we’ll make use of Netflix. Probably often. To make life extra easy for those of us vacationing over the summer, one of the new Netflix categories is called Are We There Yet? Great Titles To Take On Vacation. Netflix has come in handy while traveling before, and this time they’ve done the work for us by recommending perfect titles like The Tigger Movie, Air Buddies, and Tinker Bell. Tinker Bell saved us on our last vacation, and I don’t doubt she’ll do it again. Long rides and waits in line are always more pleasant when you’ve got interesting distractions for the kiddies!
Netflix has great family content that’s sure to keep you entertained this summer, and streaming makes it so convenient. I bet you already have at least a few Netflix-ready devices in your home too. Whether on a smartphone, tablet, laptop, Smart TV, Sony PlayStation, Microsoft Xbox, or Nintendo Wii, you can stream your favorites anywhere, anytime…and without commercials. All that fun is available for just $7.99/month–that’s a whole lot less than taking a family to the movies once a month!
Netflix.com/Families is a new destination designed to meet your family’s summertime entertainment needs. On Netflix.com/Families, parents can find lists of movies and TV shows for all kinds of special summer moments.
Visit www.Netflix.com/Families for more information on the best ways to stream as well as videos from families using Netflix.

Honestly, I have never even considered a NetFlix subscription. But, I have seen so much great information about them lately that I am giving it serious thought. Thanks for the great information.

I love the classics for my kids too. Probably because I know they are ‘safe’ entertainment for my kids, unlike a lot of the stuff on tv nowadays!

And to think we used to lug around portable DVD players!
Now all it takes is a thin iPad.

That’s really great that they are adding so many kids shows this summer! I wish they would add teen friendly films also!
We pretty much live on Netflix, sometimes I wonder why I pay for our satellite service. Love the option for the kids to be able to view only their shows/movies vs everything including R rated movies.
We don’t have cable or even a TV, but we love Netflix on the computer!

My son had Netflix when he lived here at home a few years ago, we watched a lot of different shows.
Subscriber to Netflix for years – love my movies!
I’ve been thinking of dumping my cable services, all my friends say Netflix is great, so I’m going to consider getting it.
Everyone loves a great movie. It’s even better when it’s affordable, like the offerings from Netflix!
I watch Netflix all the time and just love it.

I recently re-subscribed back with Netflix about 4 months ago, and we are having a ball watching all of the fun streaming movies available.
I love netflix it is so easy and convenient to use
We watch it everyday. We don’t like most movies on tv and we miss movies often at the show. This is perfect and their are so many to pick from for the whole family .
My grandsons love to use netflix! They enjoy their favorite movies over & over again!
I use to have Netflix a few years ago. It seems like they offer more options now, and I think I need to revisit them and maybe even subscribe again. Thanks for the post!
I am glad that they have movies for the kids. I also love that the movies are newer also.
My family loves Netflix. We spend a lot of quality time together watching movies from netflix.
It looks like they have a very good range of movies for the kids, too bad it’s a little on the lean side for adults but that’s okay, we aren’t much into watching TV except for a few shows. But, Netflix is the one to beat as far as good programming for children.
