Advanced Mineral Loose Powder Foundation Review
Mineral makeup and I have been good friends for several years now. I’m not someone who feels comfortable (or looks good) in a lot of heavy makeup, so the light feel and natural look of mineral makeup are just right for me. For the past few weeks, I’ve been wearing one that’s brand new to me: Loose Powder Foundation from Advanced Mineral.
The Loose Powder is actually four products in one. It acts not only as a foundation but as a powder, a natural sunscreen, and as a concealer. My dresser is cluttered with enough hair and makeup supplies, so if I can combine products and save some space (and money), it’s a bonus. The sunscreen is SPF 30 UVA/UVB broad-spectrum protection, so you’re delicate skin will be protected from that nasty, wrinkle-inducing sun. Unlike some other makeup options, the Advanced Mineral Loose Powder Foundation does not contain any talc, starch, perfumes, dyes, preservatives, or other unhealthy and irritating ingredients. Antioxidant vitamins A and E block pollutants, prevent free radical damage, and keep your skin looking younger. I haven’t met a woman yet who doesn’t want to keep her skin looking young!
Those are all wonderful features, and my kabuki brush and I couldn’t wait to give the foundation a try. It applies as easily as I expected it to based on my experience with other mineral makeups. The coverage is just right; it’s enough to blend away the blemishes without making me look like I’m wearing a ton of makeup, and it lasts all day. The Advanced Mineral Loose Powder gives my skin a smooth, even appearance while still looking natural. Have I mentioned how much I dislike the heavy makeup look?
With the Loose Powder, you have three shade options: Taylor, Angelina, Eva. Visit their Shade Finder to determine which celebrity is the best match for you. Not wanting to appear too ghost-like during the summertime, I went with Angelina.
Although I love using this makeup, the shade isn’t exactly perfect for me. It’s a little too dark, but I think the lightest shade might be too light. That’s just a guess though, since I haven’t actually tried it. I’d like to see something in between Taylor and Angelina, but I definitely can and will get by with Angelina, at least during the summer.
I’ve been very happy with the Loose Powder Foundation, and I will continue to use it. Natural products are always my preference, especially when they don’t clog my uncooperative pores, so this one gets two thumbs up from me. If you’d like to try it for yourself, you can find it online at the Advanced Mineral site. While you’re there, you might want to check out their other products, like the Liquid Mineral and Pressed Powder foundations. Oh, and did you know they use Advanced Mineral products on the set of Grey’s Anatomy and NCIS? Yep, they do. If you want to look good even when you’re on camera (and who wouldn’t?), you’ll love this stuff!
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

I have been thinking of trying a mineral makeup for a while. I have good skin and don’t need the heavy makeup, but I keep hearing it sparkles so I’ve been hesitant to buy any.

I’m sure it varies by brand, but none of the mineral loose powder foundations that I’ve used sparkled. This one definitely didn’t 🙂

I have been wanting to try mineral makeup, but a bit nervous about it. I don’t have a good reason to be nervous, other than I am lame and get weird about trying new makeup, lol!

I LOVE that there isn’t any talc in this – so much better for you! And with SPF I can skip a step in the morning (although will need to freshen up several times during the day).
I am looking for new makeup. This line looks great!
I’ve never heard of this brand but it looks amazing! thanks for sharing! xo xo

You know what’s great about loose powder? Its super easy to customize the perfect color just by mixing another one in!! I do this often when brands only have something like Light, Medium, Dark. Especially since my color always changes depending on my tan. Just pour small amount of the one that you’re using thats little too dark in a separate/new/empty container (so you always have the originals to mix with) and add in the one that’s too light until you have the color you want 🙂
